John Edward Parady Memorial Service

John Edward Parady died peacefully in Payson, Utah on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the age of 84.

John is survived by his wife Barbara Lyn Parady; his children: John David Parady, Renee Aileen Hall, and Stacy Lyn Parady; his seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his father Raymond Oliver Paradis; his mother Ella Louise Timm; his two brothers Richard and Jerry; as well as his twin sister Mary.

John was born on September 26, 1939, in Temple City, California to Raymond and Ella Paradis.

John received a bachelor’s degree from California State University Los Angeles and later a master’s degree from the University of Southern California. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. John was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in February 1966 and married Barbara on August 13, 1966 in Glendale, California. He and Barbara were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in October 1967 and were married for 57 years during which they raised three incredible children.

John worked for several large companies in his professional career as a Chief Information Officer. He and his family had the opportunity to live in a variety of cities in both California and Washington state during his career. He retired in 2000 and later moved to Payson, Utah to be near his grandchildren.

John and Barbara were called as service missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vista, California. They served from 2012-2016.

Some of John’s favorite pastimes were fishing, tinkering in his workshop, exploring his family history, as well as restoring and maintaining a myriad of MG’s. He was an avid reader, loved going on adventures and never missed an opportunity to learn something new.

His children remember John to be a driven, forward-thinking, resilient, knowledgeable father who encouraged learning and education. He possessed integrity, honesty, and a love of Jesus Christ.
