Jody Clark Rookstool, age 57, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on May 31, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished son, and beloved brother whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives.
Jody was born on March 16, 1969, to Clark and Sherol Rookstool. He was the third child and oldest brother in a family of eight children. He was preceded in death by his father, Clark Rookstool, and his grandparents, Harold, and June Rookstool and Hank and Myrtle Blanchard.
On June 30, 1992, Jody married Stephanie Ann Wiseman in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and shared adventures. One of the things that first brought them together was their love for Japan, its people, and its culture, having both served missions there. Their appreciation for Japan remained a special bond throughout their marriage.
Jody graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Japanese. A lifelong Cougar fan, he loved cheering for BYU and following their successes. He also possessed a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit. Through determination, creativity, and hard work, he founded and built numerous businesses throughout his life. He faced challenges with resilience and viewed obstacles as opportunities to learn, grow, and try again.
As a young man, Jody enjoyed wrestling and basketball. Later in life, he developed a passion for horses and found great joy competing and spending time with them. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking, exploring nature, and creating memories with Stephanie.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jody lived the principles he believed. He was known for his willingness to serve, his compassion for others, and his genuine concern for those around him. Whether offering encouragement, sharing his time, or lending a helping hand, Jody consistently put others before himself. His kindness, generosity, and caring heart left a lasting impact on family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all else, Jody loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie; his children, Josh (Emily) Rookstool, Sara (Ian) Watson, Adam Rookstool, and Ashley (Luke) Jensen; his mother, Sherol Rookstool; and his treasured grandchildren, Layla and Kendall. He also leaves behind his siblings, extended family, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Though his passing came far too soon, Jody’s legacy of faith, hard work, service, and love will continue through the lives of those he influenced and the family he cherished.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Jody’s life:
