Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great -grandmother and friend, was called back to her Heavenly Home on November 13th, 2024. She was born on September 8th, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Bertha Edith Van Natta and Lynville Carl Bartholomew.
She attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California. She married Joseph Leroy Davis on May 22, 1954. They were married for 31 years and had 8 children: Scott, Dan, Jeri Lynn, Diane, Janet, Darren, Joy and Charles.
Joan married Robert Allen Savage on September 13, 1986. They lived happily together in Tustin, CA, Morgan Hill, CA, Payson, AZ and Payson, UT.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her favorite callings was serving with her husband Bob as a Church Education Service Missionary in Pierre South Dakota. Joan had amazing Christ-like qualities and was always sharing her smile, blessing others with her kindness and talents, and always making friends.
Joan enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, making Christmas stockings for all her family members, making memories with family and visiting with her friends.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Robert Allen Savage, her children, Dan Davis, Jeri Lynn Lee, Diane Gallant (Joe), Janet Holguin (David), Joy Smith (Rich), Charles Davis (Kathleen), Robyn Savage Jensen (Dennis), Bonnye Savage Wallace (Mark) and Robert Scott Savage. One of Joan’s greatest joys was being a loving grandma to her 27 grand-children and 40 great-grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Edith Van Natta and Lynville Carl Bartholomew, her step-father, Cecil Parkin, her brother Gerald Bartholomew, her son Scott Davis and her son Darren Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building at 952 West 1580 South Payson, UT 84651. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Interment will follow at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, UT at 2pm.
