Jerry DeVaun Shelley, age 84, passed away on October 6, 2021 in Payson, Utah. Jerry was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on July 27, 1937 to Levi Erwin Shelley and Ida Lenora Olsen. He is survived by the love of his life, Ruth Ann Clark Shelley, his wife of 52 years, and his children Sherri Ann Shelley of Brooksville, Florida; Jason Shelley (Jennifer Gillespie) of Salem, Utah; Shaun Shelley (Claudia Shelley) of Payson, Utah; Alisha Hurst (Brian Hurst) of Gretna, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Jerry was a hard worker. While employed at Mountain View Hospital, Jerry was awarded the employee of the month, the employee of the year, and the Thomas Frist Humanitarian Award. After 50 years of dedication, Jerry retired in 2013. His family celebrated his retirement by throwing him a surprise party. He continued working hard with his lawn care business. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially loved spending time with his family, including family dinners on Sunday evenings.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah 84651. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the LDS Park Ward Church Building, 274 South Main Street, Payson, Utah 84651. Visitation will be held prior from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
