Jean Holt Funeral Service

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Jean Spencer Holt, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Jean was born on May 14, 1947, in Payson, Utah, to Arlyn and Violet Josephine West Spencer. She was the third of five children and spent her childhood in the community she loved. Jean attended Payson schools and graduated from Payson High School, carrying with her the values of hard work, faith, and service that would define her life.

Jean met the love of her life, Roger Holt, at a church activity while he was living in Orem. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah Temple on September 12, 1969. Together they built a home filled with faith, love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.

Of all her accomplishments, Jean considered raising her eight children to be her greatest blessing. As her family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she found immense joy in spending time with each one. Her family was the center of her world, and she created countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

Jean was known for her remarkable work ethic and attention to detail. She took tremendous pride in maintaining a beautiful home and was especially passionate about her yard and garden. Friends and neighbors admired her meticulously cared-for lawn, vibrant flowers, and welcoming surroundings. Whether tending her garden or caring for her family, Jean gave her whole heart to everything she did.

She also possessed many creative talents. Jean was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting, crocheting, and creating crafts. Her handmade gifts and artistic creations reflected the love and care she poured into every aspect of her life.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jean had a deep testimony of her Savior and a steadfast love for her Father in Heaven. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. While her family will miss her dearly, they find comfort and peace in knowing she has returned to His presence and has been reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, JoeLynn (Nona) and Brad (Rene).

She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 56 years, Roger Holt; her eight children, Jeana, Leesa, Matt (Heather), Mike (Katie), Mark, Nate (Keeley), Nick, and Crista (Natalie); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Mont (Sandy) Spencer and Joyce (Wayne) Childs.

Jean leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, creativity, kindness, and unconditional love. Her influence will continue to be felt through the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 274 South Main Street, Payson, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Payson City cemetery at 400 North 800 East in Payson, Utah.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support extended during this time as they celebrate the beautiful life and enduring legacy of Jean Spencer Holt.
