Jason Linford Llewellyn Funeral Service

Jason L. Llewellyn passed away suddenly on Friday morning September 16, 2022 in Springville, Utah while at the Canyon View Urgent Care seeking medical attention.

He was born on January 1, 1975, to Leo Max and Betty Mae Llewellyn of Payson. He was a surprise with Max being 50 and Betty 45, but he wasn’t the only one that day. His identical twin Brother Jared arrived shortly after him and they were inseparable since.

He grew up very active and loved competition of any kind.  He especially loved his childhood and getting together the whole gang to meet up at the schools and play either football, basketball, baseball, frisbee baseball, 5 step, pomp, soccer or snow snoccer. Yes that’s what we named it . It didn’t matter as long as we were together having fun. Honestly just like in the movies like “The Sandlot”.

Jason and Jared started wrestling in the 2nd grade and instantly knew where they had found a true passion, since they had been wrestling and fighting at home for years.  Jason played on many basketball, baseball teams like the Wildcats, Cardinals, and Yankees. Baseball was his second love. He played football on the Green team and Doug their brother actually coached them one year along with Leroy Serrano and Coach Bigler. As you can imagine he was athletically gifted and had a lot of success being chosen to be on the All Star teams after the season. He also loved the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing.  He was an excellent marksman.  He was good at whatever he wanted to do and put in the work to excel. He was also a very good student in the classroom, always in accelerated classes.  He loved wrestling and was a State Champion in Greco, Freestyle, and Folkstyle, and multiple time State placer as well.

In high school he met his later to be wife Marlo Thomas and was married on March 24, 2001, and Sealed in March 2005 in the Jordan River LDS Temple.  His first son Kael Spencer was born in June of 2000 and later passed in December due to heart complications. He longed for his little boy and spoke of him often.  Then Jaden came along, and then Corbin.

Jason started out as a carpenter by trade thanks to Jared and they worked side by side for years building houses. He did this for around 15 years. He also worked for Best Vinyl custom division, building decks and pergolas.  After that he went to work for Jacobsen construction where he was a carpenter leadman, foreman, and then later recruited to survey and was very recently going to learn to scan jobsites as well.  Jason loved his job there and loved the challenge and fast pace at which he worked. He was smart as a whip and could calculate and spit out numbers quicker than lickedly split. He had a strong, strong work ethic.

Jason was also a teacher, coach, and mentor. He loved to share his knowledge with anyone who was willing to learn. Not just on the jobsite but in sports and life as well. It was in his DNA as his father coached him and his siblings and so many others growing up, so did he to his sons and many others in every sport they played. For many years and reached countless youth in many ways. He had a way of knowing how to reach out and get the best out of everyone, and make everyone feel welcomed and needed.  He took pride in that. It was what he was called to do. He will be GREATLY missed !! Taken way to soon. If you ever needed a hand he was always willing, all you had to do was ask and he was there. He always thought of others before himself. He would get a lot done just by smiling, all the while taking on adversity. He was very private and wouldn’t let others know his struggles, he was a very strong man.  And If YOU’RE READING THIS YOU KNOW HIM, HE HAD THE GIFT OF GAB, and could talk to anyone for hours just to make you feel better.

He is survived by his estranged wife Marlo, sons Jaden (20) and Corbin (17). Mother Betty (91), siblings Phillip Llewellyn (Charlotte)of Provo, Teri Pearson (Dennis), Dan Haws of Chester, Doug Llewellyn of Payson, Wendy Smith (Byron)of Santaquin, Jared Llewellyn (Amy) of Pleasant Grove.

He was preceded in death by his father Leo Max, his son Kael Spencer, sister Kathie Haws, Grandma Lenora Chambers- Davis, among many others.

I have had the privilege to be one of Jason’s coaches, with the Cardinals, one of the best teams I have coached in Baseball. I am in awe of all Jason has done and accomplished. The pictures and Obituary show of his accomplishments, show his love to Family, Friends, Church, and Work. No greater love can we have than this! Thanks Jason!
