Janice Laverne Lawson Robertshaw passed away peacefully from this world on June 9, 2021, at the age of 76. Janice was born April 23, 1945, in Pennsylvania, to Lavern Edward Lawson and Bernice Lorraine Young.
Upon completing high school, Janice met and married William Ian Robertshaw on December 22, 1962; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Janice and Bill welcomed 4 beautiful children into the world: Tom, Mark, Julie, and Becky. Family was absolutely everything to Janice. In addition to 11 amazing grandchildren, Janice was also great-grandma to many. She was a grandma to anyone who needed a grandma in their life, and her posterity was her greatest joy. There is no one who loved their family and friends more than Janice. She always had a great outlook on life, no matter what was going on and was always there with words of encouragement or advice for those that required it.
Janice was a professional cook and an employee of Provo School District for many years. She was also a valued member of the Nephi 3rd Ward and held many years of various callings. Her favorite calling in the ward was to give sisters a phone call every single day. This was the highlight of her day for over 20 years, and she had a great love for the elderly widows in her ward. Janice exuded generosity and service and was a true example of Christ-like love.
As well as attending the temple many times a week, Bill and Janice served a service mission to the Salt Lake South Mission.
Janice is survived by her husband, Bill Robertshaw; her children: Tom (Lynn) Robertshaw, Mark (Angie) Robertshaw, Julie (Danny) Karren; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Melvin ‘Mike’ Lawson; and sister, Sharon Brawler. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Keddington; her parents; her brother, Richard Lawson; and a sister, Barbara VanPatten.
On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, the family will greet family and friends at the Mountain View 1st Ward, 138 South 1100 East, Payson, Utah, at 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Her ashes will be interred at Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
