Jan Spagnolo Livestream Broadcast

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Jan Spagnolo (Beckstrom), a beacon of love and compassion, on June 10, 2025. Born in Salt Lake City, UT, Jan entered this world with an adventurous spirit on September 30, 1953. She attended Spanish Fork High School, graduated from Brigham Young University, and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paris, France. Jan made her home and raised her family in Alberta, Canada, and Spanish Fork, Utah, before living her later years in St. George, Utah, where her empathetic soul touched countless lives.

Jan was a force of nature. She was a compassionate mother, a supportive friend, a dedicated massage therapist, and an avid outdoorswoman. She had an innate ability to make others smile, a quality that made her an unforgettable presence in any room. Her adventurous spirit was second to none; she loved hiking and exploring the natural wonders surrounding her Utah home. In her retirement years, she spent her days basking in the simple joys of life, like spending time with her beloved Yorkies and her “sisters.” She was fond of saying, “Cheer up! Things are getting worse at a slower rate,” a mantra that was reflected in her vibrant, adventurous life.

Surviving Jan are her twin brother, Jeff (Camille) Beckstrom; her devoted sons, Jean-Paul (Alison) Spagnolo of Columbus, OH; Justin (Kathryn) Spagnolo of Cedar City, UT; and Steve Spagnolo of St. George, UT; along with her loving daughter-in-law, Sarah Spagnolo and her 10 grandchildren Braden, Lily, Ivy, Bella, Avary, Mason, Isaac, Camden, Scarlet, and Max. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Ellen Beckstrom, her brother, Gary Beckstrom, and her beloved daughter, Suzanne Spagnolo. As we mourn the loss of our dear Jan, we celebrate her life – one filled with compassion, adventure, and a deep love for her family.

We invite friends and family to share their memories of Jan and upload photos to the memorial page, a testament to a life well-lived. Jan’s legacy will live on through the stories we share and the memories we cherish. May her adventurous spirit inspire us all to live our lives with compassion, joy, and empathy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Jan’s memory with a donation to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, which provided comfort during her cancer journey, or to the Yorkie Rescue of America, reflecting her lifelong love of animals. I send my sincerest condolences to the family of Ms. Jan Spagnolo and pray that God will grant you strength, comfort, and a peace that surpasses all understanding. The Word reminds us that a tree is recognized by its fruit. Having the tremendous opportunity to work with her son, JP Spagnola, helps me understand that she must have truly been a remarkable woman to have reared such an upstanding young man. May sweet memories provide you comfort in the coming days.

Jan will be greatly missed. She was such a light in so many ways and in so many lives. Whenever I saw her she was always so positive and usually had a smile on her face or was laughing at a joke. We adopted her into the Burbank family long ago due to her being so close to our cousin, Sandy, and becoming friends with us all. We love her and give our condolences to her family especially her kids and grandkids.
