On January 9, 2021, Janet Lea Revel Hulbert, age 72, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away at her daughter’s home in Lehi, Utah. She was born August 4, 1948, in Oakland, California, to James Milton Revel and Phyllis May Goodfellow Revel. She grew up in Oakland, graduating from high school there.
Janet attended Merrit College, where she met the love of her life, Claude Hulbert. They were married in 1969 in Alameda, California; later sealed together in 1983 in the Provo Utah Temple. Together, they have two daughters: Ginger and Heather.
Janet was a wife and mother, first and foremost. In addition, she worked for over 20 years at Fritzi Clothing Manufacturing plant in Spanish Fork, Utah. Her hobbies were crocheting; she made countless afghans and beanies. She also enjoyed gardening, and she liked watching television, especially the Hallmark channel and all Christmas shows. She loved her country as demonstrated by always having a U.S. flag on display, at home, on her car, and anywhere else she could place one.
Shortly after her sweetheart, Claude, died in 2000, Janet moved to St. George, where she lived for several years and made many lasting friendships.
She is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved singing in the church ward choir and going to the temple.
Janet is survived by her daughters: Ginger (Mike) Butts of Lehi, Utah; and Heather (Paul) Wilson of Nephi, Utah. Also survived by grandchildren: Allan Terry, Nicholas Terry, Austin Terry, J C Hulbert Wilson, Brittany Terry, Whitney (Richard) Kellogg, Corbin Wilson, Matt (Brittany) Butts, Cody (Crystal) Butts, Josh (Brihanna) Butts, Jacob Butts, and Sarah Butts; and great-grandchildren: Cohen, Shelby, Isabelle, Liam, Loren, Brody, Karley, Leah, Ryler, Jameson, Taylor, and Kleos. Additionally survived by her twin sister, Janis (Gerardus, Sr.) Hauwert; and siblings: Rosalie (Richard) Gerber, Kimberly Revel Anderson, and Carol Ivy; and two nephews, Father Gerardus Hauwert, Jr. and David (Katrina) Hauwert. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude; her parents, James and Phyllis Revel; her brother, Richard Revel; her nephew, Joseph Hauwert; her step-mother, Elaine Revel; and her mother-in-law, Margaret Hulbert.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660. Interment will follow at Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

January 16, 2021 at 5:15 amSorry to hear of Janet’s passing. Such a sweet person who always had a smile for everyone. She is gone from the eyes but not the minds or hearts of those who knew her, nor from God’s lasting memory. Isaiah 26:19; Psalms 37:29

January 17, 2021 at 9:48 pmI just saw her obituary today or I would have come to her services! I loved Janet! She was in our ward in Spanish Fork for several years – and then I kept in touch with her in St. George for quite awhile too. I loved her spunk – she could keep me laughing! She loved her family more than you will ever know – she talked about all of you all the time! She was amazing at making do with the things she had – we could all learn a few things from her example. Gonna miss her!
