February 2, 2021 at 1:35 amI’m so sad about Janel’s passing. I’m going to miss her terribly. It was always fun catching up with her, rehashing the good old days of high school and college before I got married and moved farther away. It was never a dull moment when she was around. And she always had my back!!!

February 3, 2021 at 9:35 pmI’m terribly sorry about hearing this news. Janel was truly a wonderful person that had a smile bigger than life itself. I don’t think it was possible to not like Janel Curtis. She was so kind and nice to everyone and passed no judgment on anyone. She truly accepted everyone and that may have been one of her biggest gifts and blessing she had to offer in this life. I wonder if all Janel had to do was flash that huge beautiful smile of hers and I’m sure she could have gotten her own way. I don’t know if she ever tried it but no one could say no to that smile of hers. She really had a smile for the ages and bigger than life itself. I didn’t see Janel for almost 15-17 years and when I bumped into her at a wedding reception we started talking like we were old friends. I felt like she was the only one that understood me that night at the reception and that is just how Janel made people around her feel. She was a blessing to be around! What a kind soul she really was and so easy to talk to her about anything. Janel had a special spirit in my eyes as I knew her from the time she was really little. I’m sure she is rejoicing right now knowing she has been reunited with her mother. She is likely having a great time with her and who knows maybe they will even find a place to travel together. God bless you Janel. May you Rest In Peace with your loved ones and your Savior that has his hands wide open ready to accept you. We will see you again my dear young friend and it will be just like that one time at the reception when we hadn’t seen each other in years. Gosh, I can’t wait! Your friend Derek Schaerrer
