James Angus McKean June 14, 1942 - January 18, 2026

James Angus McKean, better known as Jim to those who knew and cherished him, was a man who lived life to the fullest, embodying the spirit of the quote, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” Born on June 14, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, Jim’s adventurous spirit saw him live in various states across the country, from the coastal beauty of California to the vibrant culture of Tennessee, before he settled in the scenic landscapes of Provo, Utah. His adventurous nature was complemented by an equally spirited zest for life, the outdoors being his preferred playground. He was a resilient man who navigated life with a carefree spirit, always looking forward to the next journey.

Jim was indeed an ambitious soul who sought not just to live but to experience life in all its varied forms. His resilience saw him serve in the Navy for three years before embarking on a career as a Railroad Brakeman. He retired after many years of dedicated service, his ambition etched in the tracks that spanned the length and breadth of our great country. His adventurous spirit and ambitious nature were not solely confined to his professional life, but also reflected in his personal life. His love for the outdoors was a testament to his spirit, a celebration of life in its raw, unfiltered form. He is survived by his son, Bruce Lewis, and his daughter, Traci Jones.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James II, and his mother, Dorothy McKean.
