Our beloved Jalee Lew Anderson, lovingly known as “J” or “Jawa,” returned to her Heavenly Father on January 18, 2026, at the tender age of 14. Though our hearts ache at her passing, we are grateful for the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and the comfort of knowing that families are eternal.
Jalee was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, friend, and teammate. She had a natural gift for nurturing, protecting, and caring for younger cousins, always watching over them with patience, tenderness, and love.
Jalee had a deep love for horses, and being on the back of a horse came so naturally to her. She spent hours outside with her siblings, working hard and perfecting her skills in goat tying and breakaway roping.
Those moments outdoors-learning, laughing, and growing together-were some of her happiest and will be treasured forever.
She was the most beautiful young lady, inside and out, and carried the light of Christ in all that she did. Her gentle spirit, sweet nature, and genuine goodness were felt by everyone who knew her. Her testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in her actions. Jalee loved going to the temple and found joy and peace in living the gospel.
Jalee was an accomplished and dedicated athlete who participated in clogging, basketball, volleyball, softball and rodeo. She was a determined competitor, a supportive teammate, and a hard worker. A bit of a perfectionist, she always gave her best effort and encouraged others to do the same. Her sportsmanship, discipline, and positive attitude were admired by teammates and coaches alike.
Above all, Jalee was deeply loved—by her family, her friends, and everyone who had the privilege of meeting her. Her smile, her light, and her sweet spirit left an unforgettable mark on this world. Though her time with us was far too short, her influence and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will always be our darling, sweet Jalee—forever loved, forever missed, and forever held in our hearts.
Jalee is survived by her loving parents, Jade and Maclee Anderson; her brother, Briten; and her two sisters and best friends, Maizee and Tillee.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Papa, Lewie, and her big brother, Bray.

January 20, 2026 at 6:26 pmI wanted to offer my deepest condolences on the loss of Jalee. I was Jalee’s 7th grade English teacher and am the mother of one of her classmates. I remember her as a quiet, sweet girl who was able to work with anyone in the class. She tended to speak quietly but had a good attitude towards whatever we were doing in class. She always tried to be a good friend, and she would reach out to people. I loved seeing her smile every day.
In January, I usually have my student choose one guiding word to focus on for the year to help them grow into the person that they want to become. I wanted to share a few of her responses to this assignment (1/10/2024):

I thought that this assignment really highlighted her sweet nature and her desire to be a good student, friend, and family member. She will be greatly missed.

January 20, 2026 at 6:39 pmJalee’s cousin, Olivia Olson, is my friend, and that’s how I knew her. Jalee was such a good friend and was the nicest person you could ever meet. That’s if you didn’t get on her bad side. But afterwards she would apoligize which made her such a great friend and person. This truly jarred me when I heard the news of her passing in school. My deepest condolences go to the Anderson family, relatives, and friends. She will be very truly missed. Fly high, Jalee.

January 26, 2026 at 4:40 pmJalee was an amazing human being. She was something I call too humble cause I gave her a lot of crap and did some really stupid things in front of her and she still considered me a friend.I remembered once when I asked if I can hook her up with one of my friends from Salem and she just said that she was good instead of saying heck no like I thought she would. Life’s gonna be tough without her loving example. I know that half if not more of all the people in spirit prison are gonna accept the gospel cause of her.And Everyday I’m gonna follow her humble and loving example.
