Jacqueline Ann Warner June 15, 1937 - February 6, 2025

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, Jacqueline Ann Warner graduated to her next adventure. She lived a life of devotion and service. Her loving family surrounding her as she passed was a testament of this.

Known as Jackie Ann early on, Jacqueline was born in Nome, Alaska, on June 15, 1937, to parents, Virginia Dair (Harper) Roberts and George Andy Roberts. The oldest of three children, Jacqueline spent her formative years in Alaska and Washington. She helped her mother care for her brother, George, and sister, Mary. Jacqueline attended Anchorage High School, now known as West Anchorage High School. At that time, she worked a number of jobs: a babysitter, earning $1.00 an hour, a shop girl at a beauty parlor, and at the iconic 4th Avenue Theatre in downtown Anchorage.

Eventually, Jacqueline and Mary lived and worked together in Fairbanks. Jacqueline was on the sales team for Jonas Brothers of Alaska, a company specialized in the manufacturing and sale of women’s fur coats and parkas. She later managed the store there. While so employed, Jacqueline met the love of her life, Joseph Shaw Warner (Joe). After six months, Joe and Jacqueline married on September 5, 1959, in Sacramento, California. They spent the first six months of their marriage on an extended honeymoon, sailing and enjoying time together throughout the San Francisco area, until their money ran out, forcing them to return to work.

Over the next twenty-seven years, career pursuits and life opportunities took Joe and Jacqueline from coast to coast. They moved over twenty times and resided in the states of California, Washington, Florida, and Texas, before returning to Alaska in March of 1976.

Joe and Jacqueline considered parenthood their greatest adventure, which began with the birth of their daughter, Janine, in 1963. The adventure continued with Michelle being born in 1965, and not long after, Daniel (Dan) in 1966. As a wife and mother, Jacqueline’s first priority was always in creating a happy home for her family, making innumerable delicious meals and ensuring a life of love and comfort for her family. Always the listener, Jacqueline embodied the best qualities of motherhood as she encouraged her children with optimism and fortitude daily.

On February 13, 1971, Joe, Jacqueline, and Janine were baptized as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The following year, the family was sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. Jacqueline believed that, “Our goal in life should be to live with Jesus Christ as our example and to be as much like Him as possible.” She enjoyed serving in the Seattle Washington Temple with Joe for seven and half years.

Jacqueline worked as a business owner, real estate agent, in-home child care provider, caterer, waitress, and more. She had many hobbies, chief among them being the collection of countless recipes, many of which she loved to test out. However, one day, she had a somber realization; she would not have enough time in her life to try all of the recipes that she wanted to.

Through the years, Jacqueline became well known for her hand-knitted items: baby blankets, sweaters, scarves, baby booties, and more. She gifted these creations, stitched with love and care, to both family and friends alike. These are treasured keepsakes even to this day. Her love of knitting has been passed on, having taught others, including her daughters and granddaughters.

Jacqueline loved to learn new things. This was made evident, when in her sixties, she took piano lessons for the first time. She especially enjoyed playing hymns, and learning their chords.

After moving to Utah in 2015, Jacqueline’s husband of 55 years, Joe, passed on. Understanding her work was not yet complete, she forged ahead, living her final decade of life in continual service to others.  Her example of humble charity will long be remembered as she wove service, kindness, and love throughout everything that she did in her life.

Jacqueline is survived by her three children, Janine Yates of Payson, Utah, Michelle (Ross) Klvacek of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and Dan (Prue) Warner of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; her 15 grandchildren, Joshua (Gwen) Yates, Jacob (Janae) Yates, Madeline (Travis) Raymond, Jacqueline Yates (Mackenzie Watson), Jessie Yates (Tommy Tirelli), Poucha Yates, Tanner (Mykell) Grover, Landon Grover, Natasha (Ian) Heindel, Chantel (Steve) Baldwin, Russ Klvacek, Matt Klvacek, Cami (Jesse) Bradshaw, Ella Warner, Sophie Warner; and 13 great grandchildren. Jacqueline is also survived by her brother-in-law, George (Colleen) Warner; her 5 nieces; and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Roberts and Virginia (Paul) Puckett; brother, George (Sharon) Roberts; sister, Mary Roberts; and son-in-law, Joseph Yates.

Thank you for your message, Sterling and Cheryl. My mother’s Celebration of Life went very well. It was so wonderful to have all four of the children down here altogether.
