Jack Paul Benson March 28, 1966 - May 29, 2026

Jack Paul Benson, age 60, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jack was born on March 28, 1966, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Van Brent and Connie Gratuell Staley Benson. He spent his early years in Sandy before moving to Spanish Fork at the age of 12, where he built lifelong friendships and countless memories.

From a young age, Jack loved sports and excelled at baseball. He was a talented athlete who helped lead his teams to numerous city championship victories. His competitive spirit and love of the game remained with him throughout his life.

Jack was known for his sharp mind, resourcefulness, and ability to fix almost anything. Whether it was a vehicle, a household repair, or an unusual problem that needed solving, he was often the person people turned to for help. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, skiing, softball, and spending time outdoors. His adventurous nature and curiosity left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Life was not always easy for Jack, and like all of us, he faced struggles and challenges along the way. While relationships were sometimes complicated, those who loved him remember the good moments, the lessons he taught, and the love he carried for his family.

Jack was a proud father of Andrew Hood, Jeremy Benson (Charlie), Raschel Simons (Brad), and Brittany Critchfield (Corbin). He loved his children deeply and was proud of the people they became.

One of Jack’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. He adored his grandchildren and treasured the time he spent with them. Whether sharing stories, adventures, or popsicles, he created memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who loved him.

In his final days, Jack was surrounded by family and friends who were able to say their goodbyes and remind him how much he was loved. After a long illness, he passed peacefully and is now free from pain.

Jack is survived by his mother, his children; his grandchildren; his siblings, Kellie (Keith) Bray, Todd (Amberlie) Benson, and Beckie (Rick) Hawkins; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brent Benson, and his youngest brother, Ryan Benson.

Though his life was not without hardship, Jack’s family chooses to remember the laughter, adventures, lessons, and love they shared. They find comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.

Until we meet again, Dad. We love you and will carry your memory in our hearts always.
