Two of earth’s angels have been called home together.
Jack Junior Etherington passed away on Saturday January 11 from complications due to age. He was born May 6, 1932, in Santaquin to Mary Etherington and Orson Taylor. He spent his growing up years in Santaquin and graduated from Payson High School. He married his high school sweetheart Carol Taylor. Together, they had five children: Mark, Gary, Lori, Kelly, and Ryan. Carol passed away in an auto accident. Jack then married RaNae Forsey Walker.
RaNae Forsey Walker Etherington passed away on Friday January 10 from complications due to age. She was born on February 22, 1933, in Payson to Ruel and Marie Ahlin Forsey. The family owned and operated Forsey’s variety store in Payson for many years. RaNae graduated from Payson High School. She married LaMar Walker and together they had three children: Randy, Gary, and Cindy. They were later divorced. She then married Jack Etherington.
Jack and RaNae were married for 32 years. Each of them was brought into the others’ already-established families with respect and love. They spent their married years on family time, going to the family cabin at Strawberry Reservoir, and working in their beautiful yard. RaNae was a master at documenting events with her camera. Though sometimes we complained when we had to stop and pose, we are so grateful to have the memories she preserved.
They are survived by their children: Mark (Patty) Etherington, Susan Etherington (daughter-in-law), Lori Hansen, Kelly (Jodi) Etherington, Ryan (Adrie) Etherington, Gary (Carol) Walker, Cindy Walker, 35 grandchildren, and 51 great grandchildren, sister JoeLeen Forsey Young, brother Allen (Dianne) Forsey. They were preceded in death by son Gary Etherington, son and daughter-in-law Randy and Cheryl Walker, grandchildren Phillip Eskew, Brian Etherington, and Megan Etherington, and great granddaughter, Madison Ence.
No public viewing or funeral will be held at Jack and RaNae’s request. The cemetery burial service will be at noon Friday, January 17, 2025, at Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, do something nice for someone in Jack and RaNae’s memory.
