Ivy B. Patterson, 96, peacefully passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 in Saint George, Utah.
Ivy was born on March 8, 1923 to Adolph and Etta Anderson of Zahl, North Dakota.
After graduating high school, Ivy moved to Southern California where she met the love of her life, Elmo J. Patterson. They were married on August 29, 1943 and sealed in the Manti, Utah temple on October 17, 1989.
They loved to garden together and go camping, square dancing and golfing. Together they shared 69 wonderful years of love and companionship until Elmo’s passing in 2012.
They were blessed with three children: Shirley R. Englund, who preceded them into heaven in 2009; Robert W. Patterson (Julie), of St. George, Utah and Jack E. Patterson, of Pacific Grove, CA.
Ivy leaves behind a legacy of love and has touched the lives of so many. She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Jack, sister Helen Ashworth, of Ely, Nevada, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Family members will gather at the Payson City Cemetery in Payson, Utah on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to lay Ivy to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Ivy’s memory to the charity of your choice.

January 7, 2020 at 11:04 pmMy favorite memories of Ivy and Elmo:
Ivy bringing a bowl of custard to me the day I moved in next door to her and Elmo. I became her “twin” in our twin homes, both of us were born in 1923, two months a part.
Elmo doing the crossword puzzle each day with a big dictionary.
Ivy and Elmo dancing at a ward party. Other couples were dancing too and then everyone stopped, cleared the floor and watched them dance!
For me and my family being so proud to know and love Elmo, a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor…that terrible day December 7, 1941.
Love and miss you both, Ella Porter
