Iley Wayne Copeland, 66, of Salem, Utah passed away at his home on May 21, 2024, with family by his side. Iley was born in Cortez, Colorado on May 10, 1958, to John Virgel Copeland and Patty Sue Paris. He married his sweetheart Carol Jo Blake on June 20, 1980, in the Manti Temple
Iley grew up in Moab, Utah with a strong love for life. He served an LDS mission in Fresno, California. He attended Brigham Young University (BYU) where he met the love of his life Carol Jo Blake. They were married for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah Temple and raised a family of five wonderful children.
Iley worked hard at every job he held. He enjoyed working with his friends for 25 years at BYU and his new friends at Young Living for the past 10 years. Iley was happiest spending time with his family, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and going on trips to the Oregon coast with his wife who he loved so dearly.
Iley relished life’s adventures. He loved serving his family and would do anything he could to put a smile on their faces. He was an honest, loyal, trustworthy, and kind-hearted man that everyone looked up to as an example and will continue to be forever.
Iley was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many different callings in the church and loved his Heavenly Father and Savior.
His family was very important to him, especially his sweet wife of 44 years, Carol. Iley is survived by his wife and his children: Kimberly Winn (Jeremiah) Beachley, Iley Scott (Emily) Copeland, Bradley John Copeland, Cassie Jo (Samuel) Zacharias, and Jason Alma Copeland, 10 beautiful grandchildren: Mason, Reghan, Mya, Bennett, Miles, Maddox, Coen, Maylee, Maren, and Blake; his mother Patty Sue, sisters: Jenny, Margaret, Donna, and Colleena. Iley was preceded in death by his father John Virgel Copeland and father and mother in-laws; Alma and Norma Blake.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Walker Funeral Home located at 587 South 100 West in Payson, Utah. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Salem City Cemetery, 965 South 140 East, Salem, Utah.

May 24, 2024 at 12:39 amIley is a wonderful man and his obituary describes him so well. I appreciate being able to be friends and neighbors & having special memories as our families grew up together “in the Orchard.”. I have admired you much over those years, as we shared ideas at church and fun during night games, other neighborhood activities. I hope you all feel peace. Carol you and Iley are a remarkable sweet couple and devoted parents

May 25, 2024 at 6:43 pmI remember Iley and his family in Durango, Colorado where they lived for a few years. We lived relatively close to each other in the Animas Valley. Iley was a funny and trustworthy friend. I lost track of the Copeland family and want to express my deepest condolences.

May 28, 2024 at 3:11 amThe whole Copland family were the best neighbors that we could have asked for. but for me Iley was a good friend. we spent many nights under the stars together due to some young mens activity. the whole family has been missed since life has taken us in different directions but we will always be neighbors with the Copelands.
