H. Doyle Bender Funeral Service

Hyicenth Doyle Bender was born August 17, 1949, to Dorothy Marion and Hyicenth Doyle Elliott in Corpus Christi, Texas. Doyle passed away after 75 years of experience spent with family and friends. He has spent the last nine years fighting Congestive Heart Failure.

Doyle attended Lawndale High School, where he played football and was the student body president. Doyle valiantly served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New England States.

He met Tanya Lynn Brady and was married in the Los Angeles, California Temple for Time and all Eternity on December 21, 1972. They just celebrated 52 years of marriage last December.

He attended several Colleges, specifically Brigham Young University and California State University, Long Beach, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History before pursuing a higher education at the University of Phoenix, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Business. He had different jobs in the business field, but his favorite was providing support for people at the Utah Department of Job Services.

Doyle preferred to spend his time serving others, specifically in his many church callings, most recently in the Utah Payson Temple. He loved working with the College students where he served in the BYU YSA wards.

Doyle would tell anyone that the key to a successful and happy marriage is to agree that “Tanya is always right!” Doyle and Tanya loved attending sports and other activities, including playing Santa Claus for neighbors, friends and family. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He loved his family, serving God, his “Dad” jokes, BYU Go Cougars!, sports, animals, and hunting for bargains.

Doyle is survived by his wife Tanya Lynn Brady Bender, his daughter Christine (& Cullen) Clark of Richmond Utah, son David (& Loni) Bender of Benson Utah, son Steven (& Shannon) Bender of Saratoga Springs Utah, six granddaughters, and six grandsons, and his brother Rick Elliott.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 650 West 800 South, Payson, Utah.
