Gregg Anthony Wilson was born April 28, 1986 to David and Arlene Wilson in Provo, Utah. Gregg has four brothers and one sister.
He had a happy childhood, in Alaska, where he developed a love of outdoors and working with his hands. He attended school in Wrangell, Alaska where he was involved in many activities and sports including baseball, basketball, cross country, and coaching. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Brisbane, Australia. After his mission he attended BYU where he fell in love with and married Sarah Nielson. They are parents of four children: James, Libby, Anthony and Hannah.
He accepted a teaching job in South Dakota where he taught for a year before returning to Utah to teach woodshop at Salem Hills High School. Gregg helped coach the girls’ volleyball team. He loved his Skyhawk family and his students tremendously.
Gregg was gifted and had many interests. He was a creative artisan, skilled carpenter, photographer, marksman, designer, handyman, builder, and excelled in sports of all kinds. He was an avid volunteer and loved serving in the communities in which he lived. He enjoyed cooking on the grill, fishing, serving others, and most importantly being with his family.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many callings. He served as a member of a Branch Presidency, Sunday School President, member of the bishopric, and in the Young Men. He loved Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and loved his time serving them in all capacities.
Gregg was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in February 2017. He battled this cancer for three years including chemotherapy, radiation, and a trial at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. He died March 15, 2020 after a difficult, yet courageous battle.
Gregg is survived by his wife Sarah, his four children (James, Libby, Anthony, and Hannah), parents, 5 siblings, 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

March 23, 2020 at 2:00 amGregg was an outstanding student and the best teaching assistant in the Technology and Engineering Education program at BYU. He was loved by his fellow students and by the faculty in the department. I should also mention that it was my pleasure to play basketball with him several times and he was a great to play with – many fond memories. Gregg will be missed! His impact on the students in his classroom was amazing. My thoughts and prayers are with his sweet family.

March 24, 2020 at 3:12 amGregg was a friend and classmate of mine at BYU in the TEE program. He was an amazing woodworker and taught me some great things as we were working together on our final wood projects. We had several classes together and I always looked to be in a group with him because he was dependable, punctual, and fun to be around. He invited me to play intramural basketball and softball with him. I loved his passion and effort he gave every game.
My prayers and deepest sympathies go out to Sarah and your kids. May the peace and mercy of our loving Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ fill your souls.
