Grace Miller Funeral Service

Grace Roba Cannon Miller passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025 surrounded by her family. At 90 years old, she lived longer than anyone else in her family and left behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion.

She was born on May 1, 1935, in Ruby, Louisiana, delivered by her grandmother in the very home where she would grow up, to parents Oscar Lee and Essie Gloria (Pierce) Cannon. On August 10, 1954, she eloped with her eternal sweetheart, Norman Laval Miller. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family.

Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman; her parents, Oscar and Essie Cannon; one brother, Oscar L. Cannon Jr.; and four sisters: Flora Burris, Bell Miller, Bertis Vandervort, and Lydia Jones.  She is survived by her six children: Sharon (Paul) Edlefsen, Lenette (David) Phipps, Darrell (Ramona) Miller, Teresa Wright, Robin (John) Moore and Kimberly (Robert) Peterson; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four siblings.

Grace was known for her deep love of family and her many talents. She filled her home with the fruits of her labor, bottled goods from her canning, hand-stitched quilts, and a yard she loved to tend. She especially loved gathering her family together, cheering on the Utah Jazz, garage sales, and listening to music. Grace was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and found great joy in serving in her church callings. She particularly cherished her years working with Primary children and her service in the Payson Temple.

Her life was one of faith, love, and hard work, and she will be remembered with gratitude and joy by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in Payson, Utah at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 650 West 800 South, Payson, Utah.  There will be a viewing from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. with the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.  An additional viewing will also be held on Tuesday evening, October 7, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah.   Following the funeral on Wednesday, interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.

As a family we express heartfelt thanks to the ICare Hospice staff for their loving care these past couple of weeks and to Twin Oaks Assisted Living who helped to make mom’s final year a good one.
