Glade grew up and spent most of his life on his family’s homestead on the land his ancestors settled and later operated a dairy farm and grew crops. Every year Glade grew a beautiful garden. His harvest included tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, squash, and his famous pumpkins, which were his children, and grandchildren‘s favorite! While his garden was his pride and joy his most cherished crop were his 29 grandchildren and one on the way!
Glade married Margaret McIntyre in 1965. Together they had six beautiful children: Tawnya Fox, Glenna Holdaway, Christie Holdaway, Timmy Holdaway & Terrie Edler, the twins, and the baby, Rebecca Carlin. They later divorced, but remained friends. In 1995 Glade married his sweetheart, Hermona Anderson and aquired two more children, Julie Farnsworth, Paul Mortenson. He had a son, Scott Fimbres, from a previous marriage.
Glade’s hobbies and passions included gardening, going to Wendover, spending time in Yuma with his sweetheart, Hermona, golfing, and he even got a hole-in-one on his daughter, Glenna‘s birthday. His greatest passion was dissing the Utes and cheering for BYU with his son, Timmy. Glade had a beautiful voice and was a member of a barbershop quartet in his younger years.
Glade and Hermona enjoyed traveling together and lived their lives to the fullest. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.
Glade is survived by his sweetheart Hermona, children, Tawnya, Glenna, Christie, Timmy, Terrie, Rebecca, Julie, Paul, Scott, brother, Jack, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Sue, and brother Earl.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. located at 422 East Holdaway Road, Vineyard, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation prior to the service from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment will be held at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.

October 20, 2023 at 2:43 amGood bye Uncle Glade. I am sorry that I am writing this to you a little late. It has taken me some time to process your loss. I just want you to know that you were unequivacably my favorite Holdaway ever. You made that an easy option because you were everything that an in-law should be. You treated me like family. I always knew that you would be kind to me when I visited Vineyard. And you were always exceptionally kinder when you knew that others were not so welcoming of me. I felt like an outcast with everyone but you. With you, I felt like family. Going back to Vineyard isn’t going to be the same now. You were my safehaven, the only place I could find peace and acceptance in that little community. I will miss you more than you know. But, I will never forget you. How could I? My son is the spitting image of a younger you. Everytime I look at him, I think of my sweet and salty Uncle Glade. I wish I had seen you more over these last few years. Nothing has been the same since COVID. I just hope you know how special you are to me and how much I love you. Until we meet again. love always . . .
