Theodul Ritz and Rosa Maibach immigrated from Switzerland in the early 1900’s and on April 28, 1928, they were blessed with a lovely daughter who they named Genevieve Jaqueline.
Genevieve grew up and attended school in Woodland, California. She was united with her husband, Edward Blair Thomas, in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on January 25, 1952. They lived most of their lives together in Palmyra, Utah, where they raised four girls and three boys, David (Rebecca), Gregory (Chieko) Pamela, Karen Smart (Steve), Melanie Thayne (Michael), Braden and Jenifer Lee (Brysen). Gregory, Karen and Melanie have preceded her passing.
Genevieve and Blair are proud of their family and also the four missions they served together. They especially enjoyed the missions to Guatemala and to Chile.
Genevieve was a true supporter to her husband and they were a devoted couple for sixty-seven years.
Genevieve passed away at her home in Palmyra on January 31, 2019.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel in Palmyra, 1866 West 5000 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation from 9:30-10:45 a.m. that same day at the church, prior to services.
