Garry Ferre January 5, 1948 - July 27, 2024

Garry Ferre of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away July 27, 2024, at the age of 76.

Garry was born January 5, 1948, in Provo, Utah to Alma and Ruth Ferre. Garry was a twin with Jerry. Garry married JoAnne Bell and they had 4 children. They later divorced and he married Shirley J. Christiansen. Garry and Shirley served an LDS mission on the reservation in Tempe, AZ, he spent many years serving in the Boy Scouts organization. Garry loved to hunt and fish and would always tell you how much he enjoyed these things. Garry spent most of his life working as a machinist at Geneva Steel.

He is survived by his 4 children, Kerry (Betty) Ferre, Carl (Mickey) Ferre, Gayle (Emery) Openshaw, and Frank (Amanda) Ferre, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his Siblings LaRene Braithwaite, Jerry Ferre, and Virginia Gore. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles and his wife Shirley.

The family wants to express our gratitude to Legacy House of Spanish Fork and Hospice for their care of Garry over the last year.

A viewing will be held Thursday August 1, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Walker Funeral home in Spanish Fork.

Graveside Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Spanish Fork Cemetery, with a viewing from 9:30 am-10:30 am at Walker Funeral home

    Virginia — I just read about Gary — I’m so sorry! I definitely remember him and Jerry like it was yesterday. They seemed like good guys back when we lived in the ward/neighborhood. Never any trouble — pleasant to talk to and all. I hope the many memories you have had with Gary will bring you some peace and comfort in the days ahead.
