Franklin Joel Riley October 25, 1953 - May 12, 2021

Franklin “Frank” Joel Riley, 67, of Payson, Utah, passed away on May 12, 2021. He was born the youngest of 6 children on October 25, 1953 to Earl Everett and Viola Lorraine (Williams) Riley. Frank had an Eighth-Grade education, but later got his GED. Frank later got his Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Utah State and a Masters of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.

He married Debbie (Barrett) Gittens in June of 1977 in Santa Ana, California. They were later divorced. Frank later married Tracy Lyn Deeben on July 11, 2007, in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah.

He was employed at Utah State for several years. After he graduated with his Masters degree, he went to work for the Salt Lake County Jail. He later worked at Aspen Ranch Residential Treatment Center in Loa, Utah, Frank enjoyed working with the youth.

Frank was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving as a Sunday School Secretary, but the calling he enjoyed the most was Primary Teacher.

He loved going to yard sales, he was always on the lookout for the rare treasure. He enjoyed photography, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching WWE. Watching the WWE brought back special memories of time spent with his father. Frank had a green thumb, he would rescue the plants Tracy tried to kill. Frank had an amazing sense of humor, and he kept his wife and sister-in-law entertained daily. He was a great listener and people said they never felt judged by him.

Frank is survived by his wife, children Christopher Joel Riley (Esther) of Logan, Utah; Sarah Elizabeth Riley (Jon Logue), of Logan, Utah; and Kevin Earl Riley (Jordan) of Glendale, Arizona. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Ammon, Taycen and Avree Sigler, and Fredie Logue, brothers Ed “Bronco” Riley of Eustis, Florida, and Steven Nelson of Arizona, and nephew Dan Labok of Colorado and other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers James and Jerry Zimmerman, and sister Dollie Labok.
