Mary Frances Van Nosdol, better known as Frances to family and friends, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was born in Payson, Utah on July 28, 1936. She was the second child of Noal (Bud) Barnett and Nevada Wiley Barnett.
After graduating from Payson High School in 1954, Frances worked at Bradshaw Auto Parts, where she would get a laugh when parents would send their kids in for a part that did not exist. After that, she and a friend moved to California to work for a few years before returning to Utah. She then worked as the Attendance Secretary at Payson Jr High.
She married Donald (Ted) Van Nosdol, on September 26, 1960. Ted and Frances settled in Payson Utah, where they raised their 2 sons, Ty and Cory Van Nosdol.
Frances always had a passion for sewing, knitting and crocheting, reading and doing Genealogy. She also had a passion for helping others and had found joy in volunteering as a Pink Lady at Mountain View Hospital. She also served in numerous church callings, including Primary and Relief Society.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Darylnn Barnett (Keith , deceased); 2 children, Ty Van Nosdol (Diane) of Payson, Utah; and Cory Van Nosdol (June) of Payson, Utah; her 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Van Nosdol; loving parents Noal (Bud) Barnett and Nevada Wiley Barnett; 2 brothers, Ronald Wiley Barnett (Caralee) and Keith Noal Barnett.

Visitations will be held on Friday evening, February 6, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah; and additionally on Saturday morning, February 7, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be also be at Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Payson City Cemetery, 800 East 400 North, Payson, Utah.

She was also a much loved Volunteer at Mountain View Hospital for the 20 years I was the Director. She was always kind, friendly and very helpful to everyone. A dear friend that I love.
