Fawn Marie Shields passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in Provo, Utah. She was born in Seattle, Washington on February 22, 1975 to William Spencer and Bonnie Jean Newquist Shields.
Her family moved to Fairview, Utah where she grew up and graduated from North Sanpete Highschool in Mount Pleasant. Fawn also earned her Associates Degree at Snow College. She loved working with young children and being a teacher. She had a special place for special needs children because of her brother, Joshua. She also enjoyed being a medical officer for The Boy Scouts of America.
Fawn loved spending time with her Dad, especially fishing, hunting and BYU sports. She spent special time with her Mom birding and geocaching. She loved camping, hiking and exploring with her family. She also enjoyed the solitude of photography.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and very dedicated to the gospel. Fawn served a full-time mission to the New York, New York North Mission. She was a Sunday School Teacher as well.
She is survived by her parents, Spencer and Bonnie, brother, Jacob (Kim) Shields, three sisters, Josie (Todd) Reynaud, Jessica Shields and Erin (John) Langford and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Joshua whom we know she is very excited to be reunited with.
A private family service will be held for loved ones and close friends. Arrangements entrusted to Walker Funeral Home of Spanish Fork. Interment will be in the Fairview City Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held for all at a yet to be determined date.

March 20, 2020 at 1:09 amWe loved Fawn! I worked with her many years. She was such a good teacher to many children. I worked across the hall from her for several years and at Head Start for 20 years. She has such a sweet spirit and a helping heart.we are grateful to have known this special spirit! She talked about going recently buffalo hunting with her father. She wondered if this would be her last hunt. She is now hunting for special spirits to teach her faith promoting lessons to. Rest assured, when we leave this existence’, she will be there to meet us with her smile. We will miss you Fawn Shields!

Fawn you were such a blessing to me and many others. When I sit and think about our fun conversations a big smile lands on my face. Your stories kept me entertained for hours. Your adventures were endless and priceless to hear about. My favorite was your laugh in between our conversations. You knew how to heal others physically and even more so spiritually. I love you and will miss you so much! A couple weeks ago I wanted to come give you a hug but didn’t want to interrupt your spiritual prep. So I’m sending you a hug! See you soon my friend!

March 20, 2020 at 5:15 amFawn was a very good person! She was a good teacher and she loved those kids that she taught! I worked in a classroom next to hers several times. In our conversations I learned about her and her dreams that she had for this lifetime that she was experiencing. She made some of those dreams come true and I was so glad that she did. What a wonderful daughter of God who walked by faith. Fawn you will be missed by your Co workers. I pray for your family at this time, that they may receive comfort and peace. You are a beautiful Lady and my life has been blessed by knowing you.

March 23, 2020 at 8:30 pmFirst of all my sincere condolence to all the family. She loved you all so much. I worked aside her at Head Start. We had a special relationship with many things in common. Among many things I will miss her many adventures I could I could relate to. When we met many years ago I was impressed with the fact she lived in a tipi for a couple of years and made her own buckskin dress. I thought “any white women who is willing to do this” is okay in my book. The old saying is true ” they broke the mould when they made
Fawn Shield. Happy Trails my friend as your return to your Creator. I will miss you dearly.

April 9, 2020 at 3:21 pmI met Fawn at Boy Scout camp about 5 years ago. I knew her as happy, loving life and always smiling. She told us about her birds. I remember the time she was repelling and I was climbing and we stopped midway to have a chat. We went on secret adventures at camp and played a few pranks, stole the Ranger and went joyriding, among many other things. I will miss her sweet smile. Rest in Peace sweet Fawn.

December 9, 2020 at 6:53 pmI was looking for Spencer and found this obituary. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The only thing that makes this almost unbearable heartache even remotely bearable is the knowledge she is in such a great place. I would love to hear from you if possible.

December 23, 2020 at 12:25 amMust be the season. I was also looking for my cousin Spencer & came across the obit on the internet. It is sad to hear about the lost of a young person who is active in the community. nevertheless sometimes the Lord has other plans for them and they are called home sooner rather than latter. Sorry for you lost and I hope the season brings you Peace & Joy
