Favon Fontaine Cook November 28, 1935 - June 5, 2024

It is with both sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Favon Fontaine Cook, who departed this life on June 5, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 28, 1935, in Glens Ferry, Idaho, Favon lived a life full of adventure, love, and hard work, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by his family and all who knew him.

Favon’s hands were seldom still, as the nature of his work as a mechanic in the construction industry required. His dedication and skill were respected and admired by his peers. Off the clock, he was an adventurer at heart. His hobbies, like snowmobiling, adaladle-spear throwing, archery, and woodworking, were a testament to his love for challenges and his connection with the environment around him. Favon was a proud member of the National Guard in Mountain Home, Idaho, an achievement that showcased his courage and commitment to service. However, his most cherished role was that of the “Grandpa Taxi,” driving his beloved granddaughters to their dance classes, a duty he performed with unmatched joy and pride.

Favon’s life was deeply rooted in love. On June 13, 1954, he married the love of his life, Leah, and they built a family and home together in Spanish Fork, Utah. It is rare that a marriage can last as long as theirs have. Favon and Leah shared 70 years of life and love and was something he was so proud of. His devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was evident in every aspect of his life. To Favon, family was everything.

Favon is survived by his loving wife, Leah; his daughter, Gracia Lam; and his son, Rickie Cook. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Annabelle Cook; his daughter, Holly Cook; and his brothers, Martin and Martel Cook.

We invite you to leave your memories of Favon and upload photos to his memorial page. Even in his absence, his spirit lives on in the stories we share and the moments we remember.
