Evelyn Dean Walker, 79, of Mapleton, graduated this life and rejoined her heavenly family March 28, 2023, with her husband, Larry, at her side. Evelyn and Larry married in June 1962 and were rarely apart during their lifetime together. They began their lives together in Casper, Wyoming, and through the years lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; San Jose, California; and Gilroy, California; before moving to Mapleton, Utah in 2014. Larry and Evelyn have three daughters: Lorrie, Christena, and Alanna.
Evelyn graduated high school in Casper, Wyoming, and earned her associate’s degree at the Junior College in Casper. Over the years she worked as a desk clerk in a hotel, as an elementary school teacher, a school librarian, and a school secretary. Her greatest and most cherished occupation was that of Mother. Evelyn loved children and helping young people discover a passion for learning was a true joy in life. She especially enjoyed working with handicapped children. She was an avid reader and book collector and was rarely without a book in-hand. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, crochet, and just about any crafting. She also loved singing and music.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother, Francis Lewallen, her father, Doc Lewallen, and her brother, Tim Lewallen. She is survived by her husband, Larry, and her daughters: Lorrie Parrish (San Jose, CA); Christena Parks (San Angelo, TX); and Alanna Wilson (Las Vegas, NV). She is also survived by her sisters: Naomi John; Pearl Lewallen; Dawn Lewallen; and Denise Lewallen; by her brother, Ross Lewallen; and by eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
