Ethan Gary Oldham returned to the loving arms of His Savior on March 25, 2022 after a valiant 7-month battle with cancer. He passed peacefully while at Primary Children’s Hospital, with his adoring parents by his side, at the age of 17 years. Ethan was born May 31st, 2004, at American Fork Hospital, to Dan and Saedi Oldham. He is the second oldest of six children. His brothers are, Mason, Aidan, and Kellan, and his sisters are, Savanna and Nelda. Ethan was an incredibly loving brother and we were constantly amazed that he got along with all of his siblings. He was especially close with Mason, since they were 17 months apart and were the very best of friends their whole lives. Ethan will be greatly missed by his family.
Ethan was a Senior at Maple Mountain High School. He had completed all of the requirements necessary to graduate in May of this year, even though he had to complete them while undergoing cancer treatment. We are so proud of him for working so hard to finish his education! Ethan had wonderful friends at school and he had an ability to make every friend feel incredibly special and loved. We would like to mention that Ethan had a sweet and loving girlfriend, Baylee Garner, who made the last year of Ethan’s life so happy and joyful. We will be forever grateful for her strength and bravery in facing the last 7 months of Ethan’s life by his side.
As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he had a deep and abiding testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. He took his Priesthood responsibilities very seriously and we often had ward members tell us how much they appreciated the reverent way he passed the sacrament and in the last few years, blessed the sacrament. He was greatly looking forward to serving a mission someday, but we are confident he will be a wonderful missionary on the other side of the veil and we know he will serve joyfully.
We have been constantly grateful to have such a good and responsible teenager. He played the piano and could listen to a song, then figure out how to play it. He was obedient, hilarious, hard-working and always happy. He loved comedy and we spent a lot of time during his treatments watching comedians, Psych, The Office, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, Friends and anything else that would make us laugh. He also loved video games and would play with his siblings and friends whenever he could.
Ethan was constantly positive and happy as he went through chemotherapy and radiation. In fact, he was always cracking jokes and making us laugh until we hurt. He was always smiling and we never heard him utter a word of complaint. He never once asked “why me?” he just accepted the Lord’s will in all things. We will be forever changed by his loving and positive attitude and hope we can be more like him.
Ethan is survived by his parents, Daniel Dunbar Oldham and Saedra Anne Hubbs Oldham, as well as his siblings, Mason Daniel (19), Aidan Levor (15), Kellan Eric (12), Savanna Jean (10), Nelda Valerie (8). He is survived by his grandparents, who he loved, Levor Ernest and Christine LaRene Smith Oldham and Gary Ray and Sandra Jean Peterson Hubbs, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

March 29, 2022 at 8:34 amI have never met your family personally, only have followed Ethan’s journey on IG. But your family and Ethan moved me to tears several times – to see the love and support your family provided and to see that amazing smile on Ethan – it amazes me his strength! I am so so sorry from the bottomOf my heart for your families loss. As a mother myself I was so moved to see the love and dedication of a mother giving everything for her child! My hearts are with you as you go forward with a piece of you missing. I know you have your faith which is helping you and I have full confidence he is safely in Gods memory until
You see him again.

March 31, 2022 at 7:04 pmBună! Ioan 5:28, 29

April 12, 2022 at 5:09 pmIs this Leonard R. Ellis? The Patriarch? This is Saedi, Ethan’s Mom. I don’t know if you’ll see this reply, but I just want to thank you for my patriarchal blessing you gave me almost 25 years ago. It has blessed me every single day and been such a guide for my life. Even in this heartbreaking moment, it helps bring me comfort, strength and peace. Thank you!

April 1, 2022 at 12:45 amI am so sad to hear of Ethan’s passing. I had him as a student in 7th grade. He is such a wonderful person. He was such a wonderful student, respectful, caring, and always happy. He asked me almost daily if I needed any help, and before he would leave the classroom he would straighten chairs, put things away that others left out, and he always worked hard on his assignments. He was and is a great influence on me and many others in this world. May he Rest In Peace until we see him again.

April 2, 2022 at 2:09 amEthan sound like a wonderful young man. Having lost our son while he was serving his LDS mission, our hearts ache for each member of your family. Know that Ethan will do his missionary work on the other side of the veil along with other wonderful missionaries called home personally by the Savior to fulfill their mission callings. May the Lord comfort and bless you all!
