February 21, 1975 – February 26, 2020
Erik was born February 21, 1975 in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Portsmouth, Ohio. He is survived by his daughter Lyla McGinnis, parents, William Michael and Jeannie, mother, Jane Berndt, and sisters Jocelyn McGinnis and Gillian McCollum. He is also survived by many other family members and friends. He was an outdoorsman- he loved hunting, fishing and hiking. He took great pride in his gardening, pickling and family. There is nothing on this Earth that he wouldn’t do for them. If a stranger needed a shirt, he would give them the shirt off his back. If a friend needed a place to stay, he would give them one. He was a true human being and respected all of nature and people of the earth. He was and is the strongest, most honest, compassionate and charitable man we knew. He will be missed by all of us and loved by all of us always.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 4 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah

March 2, 2020 at 6:59 pmERIK, we will all miss you. I will always see you as I saw you in high school. Just a group of kids who partied hard, and lived life to the max. I remember our last phone call and you called me SON about 30 times even though I’m older then you. Lol.. keep an eye on us brother.

March 3, 2020 at 2:37 pmMy prayers and thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. I worked with Erik for many years and thought of him as a good friend. We had severaly conversations about gardening. He was very intelligent on the subject. He will be missed and remembered by all that knew and called him friend. May God be with him as he moves on and may he be at peace.
