Eric Victor Adams Funeral Service

Eric Victor Adams, age 34, loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away July 25, 2022, in Payson, Utah. Eric suddenly and unexpectedly passed away while doing what he loved and did best, serving others.

Eric was born March 28, 1988, in American Fork, Utah to Kathryn Haydee Adams.

Eric’s family moved to Payson when he was 8 years old, and it has been his home ever since. Eric attended Barnett Elementary School, Payson Middle School, and graduated from Payson High School in 2006.

Eric played baritone in Payson High School Marching and Concert band and performed in many parades and concerts. Eric earned his Eagle Scout Award as a young man.

Eric began his career in the automotive industry working as an auto detailer while still in High School. He also worked as a mechanic for his father figures, Vaughn Adams and Stu Haun, at his shop in Lindon.

Eric served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Florida Tampa Mission 2007-2009. He was a dedicated Missionary and has stayed in contact with many people he met and served during his mission.

Eric returned from his mission on June 5, 2009 and was sealed for time and all eternity to his high school sweetheart, soulmate and best friend Allison Lynn York on July 14, 2009. 6 short weeks after returning from his mission!

Eric and Ally settled in Payson and began their family. After renting for a few years Eric and Ally enlisted in a program that allowed them to team up with several other young couples to build their own home. Eric always worked very hard to provide the very best he could for his family.

Eric worked at AC Label for a while and then was blessed to go to work for Murdock Automotive Family. The past 9 years have brought Eric a prosperous career with Murdock’s auto lots in Lindon, Bountiful, Murray, and finally Santaquin. Eric was working as a finance manager in Santaquin when he passed. He was excited and looking forward to working at Murdock’s new Ford dealership being built in Santaquin.

Eric was a big tease and enjoyed having a good time. He could make anyone laugh and made everyone his friend. He loved spending time with family and friends. He would take his family and go camping at the drop of a hat. He enjoyed riding around in his side by side, dirt bikes or any other vehicle with tires. He supported his children and found great joy by attending baseball games, piano recitals, dance recitals, swim lessons and any other activity his children participated in. He recently started snow skiing and had a great time on the slopes with his sons Carter and Jaxon.

Eric loved serving and helping others. He was the “go to” guy for countless people. He had acquired skills, knowledge, and talents he shared with many people needing help. His passion for serving led him to become a Firefighter and EMT for Payson City. He always treated people with kindness and genuine concern during their most stressful moments. He loved the feelings of camaraderie while serving as a dedicated first responder.

Eric was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many capacities in his Ward.

Eric is survived by his Wife and Eternal Companion Allison, children Carter, Jaxon, Paizley and Hayden. Mother Kathy Adams, Siblings Tysan (Janelle) Adams, Amber Adams, Veronica (Bryan) Gordon, Adam Adams, and Lucas Adams. Father and Mother-in-law Gary and Tammy York. Brother-in-law Dustin (Kirsten) York. Sister-in-law Kristin (Johnathan) Smith. Also, many nieces and nephews, most of whom considered Eric their favorite uncle.

Eric was preceded in death by his Grandmother Carroll Louise Stokes Adams and Grandfather Ralph Walker Adams.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love, kindness, prayers, and support shown by extended family members, friends, and neighbors during this time. We are especially grateful for the Payson City first responders and Mountain View Hospital emergency room medical staff for their heroic efforts as they fought to bring Eric back to us. We also need to thank Eric’s employer, Murdock Automotive Group, for their kindness, thoughtfulness, and incredible generosity extended to Eric’s family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the LDS Stake House located at 711 South 600 East in Payson, Utah. I worked at MVH ER a few years ago and Eric would bring in patients. I didn’t know him that well, but I knew whenever he would come in it was with his cheesy smile and hearty chuckle about anything. It was so easy to smile when he was around. Sending my prayers and condolences 💐

No matter what was going on in this mans life, he was always smiling and laughing. I have know Eric for 18 years and I can not remember a time were he was not smiling. Eric I will miss you and your positive attitude in my life.

As for Ally. I love you so much. We became friends all those years ago for a reason. Your phone called me on the horrible night for a reason. Its because we need each other. Always remember I am here for you. Those kids mean a lot to me as do you. We can do hard things.

Rest in Peace Eric. I love you Ally, Carter, Jaxson, Paizley, and Hayden.

Eric was a special man, always smiling and bringing those up around him. As a student in our programs at Mt Nebo, as a member of Payson Fire/EMS and mostly as someone we all considered a friend: Eric will be missed.
Ally, you and your entire family are in our prayers.
Love from the entire Mittelman & Mt Nebo Family.

    Hey Eric,
It’s been a few years since your passing but it doesn’t seem like that long ago. I still can’t believe it. I really miss you. As your cousin, we have had some really fun memories growing up. I will hold these memories close and cherish them forever. We still talk about you and for a moment, a smile comes across our face remembering the times we’ve had together. I’ll never forget the time when I was in the kitchen with you at your moms house and you were trying to find a can opener to open this can you had in your hand. You leaned toward me and said “watch this” you grabbed a really sharp knife and started stabbing at the top of the can. Well the first 2 stabs go right into the top of the can and the 3rd stab goes into your hand between your thumb and pointer finger of your left hand. you put down the can and instantly took the knife out and grabbed a kitchen town to hold pressure on your hand. I was shocked for a second and was trying to process what I had just seen. You looked at me and said calmly, “that hurt, would you go get my mom please?” I ran upstairs to find your mom in her room. Your mom took you to get a couple stitches in your hand. Every time I see a can opener I think of you. If I tried to write out all the memories we share, there wouldn’t be enough space. Of course we still cry and grieve your passing. I pray for your mom and siblings often and of course your kids and wife. It’s not really that fair.
    I love you forever,
    Chelsie
