In the deepest sorrow we announce the death of our sweet baby boy. Emmett Bastion Burrell returned to his Heavenly Father July 7, 2023. Emmett was born March 30, 2021, In Murray Utah, weighing 10 lbs. 2 oz. and was 22 Inches long. He came into this world ready to make a mark on every person he met. He was the sweetest, happiest, most loving little boy, who loved everyone around him.
Emmett was an adventurer. He was so curious about his surroundings and loved to be playing outside, going on walks, getting into the dirt, going to the playground, riding his scooter, and drawing with chalk. One of Emmett’s great loves was to go to football practice with his dad. He loved to run around the field with the players, stand by his dad, and dance in the bleachers. Every time he was at the football field, he had to get a football and run to the endzone and score a touchdown. If Emmett couldn’t score his touchdown of the day, he would try to run onto the field or climb under fences to do so.
Emmett loved big; he loved his family so much. One of his favorite people was his sister Harper. The first thing he would do every day was go running down the hall to his sister’s room and barge in to see his “sissy”. They played for hours, even if it included dressing up in princess dresses, he just loved playing with his big sister. Some of Emmett’s favorite things would have to be Spider-man and the Avengers, Paw Patrol, monsters, skeletons, zombies and anything to do with Halloween, and his Tonie box which he used to listen to stories and music. He was a shining light to everyone around him with his bright personality and contagious happiness. His smile and sweet hugs and cuddles will be remembered and cherished forever.
Emmett is survived by his parents Lance and Caitlyn Burrell, his sister Harper (4), grandparents Kyle and Teresa Hansen, grandparents William and Melissa Burrell, and many other family members and friends.
We express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring of love, prayers, and thoughts from the community; American Leadership Academy staff, student body and parents, the Spanish Fork Police Department, Spanish Fork EMS, and all of those that dropped everything to come and join in the search for our sweet little boy. We are grateful to the Walker Funeral Home for their overwhelming compassion as well as Farmers Floral in Mount Pleasant for the beautiful arrangements they lovingly donated. We’d also like to thank those that have done anything in any way for our family, we are indebted to you and will never be able to adequately express our gratitude.

July 12, 2023 at 6:23 pmWe love you so much Caitlyn. Such an incredibly difficult time for you and your family. It’s a comfort to know the plan of salvation and that Emmett is safe and ok. Especially that you know it too. And that you will be with him again.
It doesn’t make this time here without him any easier but it’s something at least.
