Now, the rest of the story . . .
Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, Erastus “Lew” Christensen, 87, died December 9, 2020, at home in Salem, Utah. He was born April 1, 1933, to Chauncey and Orlene Christensen at the family home in Salem. Lew grew up in Salem and graduated from Spanish Fork High School.
While in high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean War. As a young adult, he worked road construction, and at Geneva Steel. He also was a rancher, farmer, and served as Justice of The Peace in Salem, where he solemnized weddings and pronounced jail sentencings, all within his home’s living room. In addition, he was a
business owner and was a volunteer firefighter.
Lew married his sweetheart, Evelyn Faye Davis, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. They were blessed with five sons.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Salem; sons: Clair (Brenda), of Spanish Fork, Utah; Ross (Kristina), of Payson, Utah; Kurt (Janie), of Salem, Utah; Blake, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Raul (Jeanette), of Spanish Fork, Utah. December 12, 2020 at 10:39 pmI’m sorry to hear Uncle Lew has passed away. I remember him as a good man who never hesitated to speak his mind, and faithfully served his family and community. I loved listening to his cattle stories, and the good ole’ days of Geneva Steel.

December 17, 2020 at 6:17 amSo sorry to learn of Lews passing. The hours in the booths at Trails End and One Man Band with Lew, Enoch, John Nick, and my dad Dave, listening to their tall stories between endless cups will be forever etched in my mind. All together again in the Great Coffee Shop in the Sky.

December 20, 2020 at 11:40 pmSuch a fun giving man. The junior livestock community will sorely miss him and his loyal support. There was seldom a Salem kid who didn’t get top dollar for their entry when Lew was there. My condolences to your entire large family.
