Dustin Workman Livestream Broadcast

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Dustin Workman, born on July 30, 1984, in Lompoc, CA, and who departed this life on December 20, 2025, in Salem, UT. Dustin was a loving husband, devoted father, loyal son, and cherished brother. He was an embodiment of humility and thoughtfulness, always putting the needs of others before his own. His life was a testament to the scripture, “By love serve one another” (Galatians 5:13). He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served in many capacities, including Elder’s Quorum, 2 bishoprics, and a full-time mission in the Chile Santiago West Mission.

Dustin was a man of many talents and passions. He was an Eagle Scout and a lover of the outdoors. Whether it was hiking, mountain biking, hunting, or roller-blading, his spirit soared when he was amidst nature. His love for woodworking and playing the guitar or ukulele were testaments to his creative and artistic side. Dustin was a graduate of Lompoc High School (2002) and BYU (2011). Dustin loved his job at BYU, working with the auto shop and warehouse.  But nothing mattered more to Dustin than his family. His love for his children was fierce and unwavering, and he was a beacon of light and strength for them.

Dustin is survived by his beloved wife, JaRele Workman, and their three children, Jacob, Derek, and Eliana. He also leaves behind his mother, Tiffany Escobedo, step-father, Steven Escobedo, mother-in-law Camille Winn, father-in-law Richard Winn.  He leaves behind his sister Opal (Scott) Bauldry, brothers Grant (Michelle) Riley, Devin Riley, Hunter Riley, Jeremy Riley, and brother-in-law Matt (Emily) Winn. Dustin had many nieces and nephews, Trent, Trinity, Cleighton, Eli, Lincoln, Wesley, Sebastian and Penelope. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark McGrath, and his grandparents, Albert and Margaret Workman.

Dustin was humble and kind, he was one of the few that would show up at workman family reunions and ask what he could do to help, first thing. He wasn’t bossy about it, he didn’t want to take over, he just was there to help with whatever needed to be done. He was consistent in asking every year, first thing when he arrived. …And I love him for that.

Dustin truly was a gentle giant—humble in every sense of the word. Whenever we crossed paths at different events, he always took the time to talk with us and ask how we were doing. In doing so, he made us feel seen and important. He will be deeply missed.

Dustin was my neighbor growing up. One of the kindest individuals I’ve ever met. We immediately bonded with our love of the outdoors. He explained Boy Scouts to me and I joined because of him. Though we had different interests in high school and being a year apart, he was always the guy I recognized as confident, kind, and intelligent. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him, but especially his family. I am so incredibly sorry that this perfect person is no longer with you.

Dustin was always thoughtful and kind. He was true pleasure to work with. When he needed to collect a signature for items purchased, he would take a moment to inquire about the lives of others and in turn, share some of his stories as well. A visit from Dustin always brightened my day because of his friendly kindness. He is missed. Our family’s thoughts and prayers are with those who love and miss him most.

I often worked and interacted with Dustin at BYU. He was always a humble and pleasant person to be around. He had a calming effect on everyone he came in contact with, which meant a lot when faced with our sometimes bombastic and opinionated group of coworkers. He was wonderful at his job, and he did it with kindness and respect. He is already greatly missed!
