The love of my life, Douglas Mathew Burr (43) passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2019, due to a stroke. Doug came into this world first with his best friend and twin brother Dennis Michael Burr on Feb 24, 1976 in Anchorage Alaska to Richard Lee Burr and Loye Ann Scott.
Doug graduated from American Fork High School in 1994 and loved wrestling. He and his twin brother were team captains. His love for wrestling continued on into his adult years as he watched countless matches of his younger brother, nephews and sons. His voice could be heard loud above the others while coaching them on from the stands or down on the mat with them. He often was down on the mat twisting and turning, he was almost as fun to watch as the boys wrestling.
He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and faithfully served a 2 year mission in Samara, Russia. He loved his mission and the people he was able to serve. He had many mission companions that he remained close to and many were in the room with him when he passed. Friendship was so very important to Doug. All those who knew him, loved his boisterous laugh and smile.
While attending UVU he met his eternal companion Lisa Marie Loveless in a Biology class. They were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 26, 1999. Together they had 6 wonderful children, whom he adored.
He received his Bachelors Degree in Technology Management with an emphasis in Aviation. He also was a Master Electrician and started his own electrical company, Conduit Pro Electric.
He loved his family, and spending time with them, doing what he loved most: camping, riding dirt bikes, four wheeling, and boating. Every year he loved driving their whole family to Mazatlan Mexico for Christmas. That became one of his most treasured family traditions. He would love to spend time walking on the beach in the early morning hours with his children having “quality Dad time.”
He was a gifted mechanic and donated hundreds of hours of his time fixing others cars, trucks, and motor homes. If anyone had problems with their vehicles, they would always call him with questions.
Doug is survived by his sweetheart, Lisa; children, Casin, Landon, Annalee, Luke, Kade and Evelyn; his parents, Richard (Olga) Burr and Loye Ann (Ralph) Glather. He also leaves behind his sibling, Carol Stump, Daniel (Kristen) Burr, Jared (Jenette) Burr, Brenda (Dean Hood) Burr, Dennis (Alisa) Burr, Kristi (Aaron) Cook, Randall (Rachel) Burr; and many other in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
