Our beloved husband and father, Dennis Ray Farr, passed away in his home in Spanish Fork, UT, on March 6, 2020, at the age of 74, after a difficult battle with ALS. Dennis was born in Provo, UT, on March 3, 1946, to Oswald Farr and Venice Hansen Farr.
He graduated from Provo High School in 1964. He then served a mission in the British Central Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon completion of his mission, he attended Brigham Young University, where he met the love of his life, Terri Jane Wagner. They married in September of 1972 and were later sealed in the Provo Utah LDS Temple. Together they had four children, whom Dennis adored more than anything.
Dennis was an excellent athlete in his youth and loved the outdoors. He excelled at skiing, baseball, boxing, and martial arts. For all his accolades in athletics, he was most proud of being a coach. He found great joy in coaching his children and thought of all the team members as his own children.
He loved spending time with his many friends and was especially fond of snowmobiling, trips to Lake Powell, traveling with them, and going on adventures. There were countless rides up the canyon, picnics, hunting, fishing, and camping trips.
Throughout all the stages of his life, his love of horses was steady, right up to his last days. He particularly loved the breeding, raising, and training of Paint Horses.
He had an amazing ability to befriend people and make them feel like they were the most important person in the world. He embodied a true Christlike love for all people. He loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, serving in many callings in the LDS Church throughout his life.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Terri; son, Ryan (Charee) Farr; daughter, Cari (Armando) Tijerina; son, Michael (Chalise) Farr; daughter, Rikki (Russell) Boyce; 17 grandchildren; his sister, Sherrie (Craig) Dunford; sister-in-law, Linda Farr; brother-in-law, Clint Thomas; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Farr, and sister Julie Farr Thomas.
Funeral services are Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the First Ward LDS Chapel, 310 East Center, Spanish Fork, Utah. Visitations for family and friends will be Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah; and on Friday morning at the church, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
