He served a 2½ year mission from 1959 to 1961 in the Netherlands.  He served most of his time in Holland.  He served faithfully in many callings including serving in bishoprics, scouting, and 13 years as a stake clerk in the Huntington Beach California Stake.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children: Damon (Shauna) DeHart, Brock (Kamra) DeHart, and Dirk (Vanessa) DeHart; and his grandchildren: Kate, Blake, Taton, Draydon, Broden, Koben, Creedon, Deison, and Temperance.  He is survived by his sister: Lani (Joseph) West, his sisters-in-law: Vonnie DeHart, Jeannie DeHart Romney, Dawn DeHart and Sheryl DeHart; and his brother-in-law: Lee Stewart.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Virginia DeHart; and his siblings: Guy Kim DeHart, Craig Carson DeHart, Brian Jan DeHart, Cathie Young, Hali Stewart, Hugh Quincy DeHart and brother-in-law David Young.
