Dee Warren Broadhead, 90, of West Mountain, UT, was reunited with his wife, Jennell Foreman Broadhead, on November 2, 2024.
Dee was born June 2, 1934, in Park City, UT to Leland and Elaine Broadhead. His family soon moved to Daniel, UT, which became Dee’s hometown. Dee learned the value of hard work early in life. He spent his younger years hauling coal and taking care of the family farm, along with other odd jobs. Dee was very intelligent and took machines apart just for the challenge of getting them back in working order. The technical and study skills he developed led him to an accomplished career as an electrical engineer.
Dee was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a mission in the North Carolina/Virginia area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, based in Taiwan. He attended BYU and Utah State University to receive his Master of Science degree. Later in life, he attended the University of Phoenix to receive a Master’s in Business Administration.
He fell in love with Jennell Foreman, and they married August 12, 1959, in the Los Angeles Temple. Their perfectly-planned wedding had many unplanned challenges, giving Dee a fun story to recall and relate later in his life. Dee and Jennell lived in many places. To name a few: Colorado Springs CO, Cottonwood UT, Peoria AZ, Katy TX, Tucson AZ, and finally retiring in West Mountain UT.
Dee began his retirement by building his West Mountain home to the specifications of his wife. He received great pleasure knowing that she used her dream home to its fullest potential. Dee loved to garden and work outside in the yard. As they drove by, many neighbors looked for the man in the big hat and coveralls. Dee’s life was devoted to service to his faith, his family, and his neighbors. He helped countless people over the years from making Pinewood Derby cars, scouting, working church service projects, to helping wire someone’s house.
After Jennell passed, Dee was called to serve at the Veterans Home branch where he attended church and family home evenings. He loved the friends he made at the Veterans Home. The service filled a hole in his life and reminded him to be grateful for the health he still had.
Dee is survived by his children: Daunetta Broadhead, Payson UT, Richard Broadhead, Payson UT, Jennette (Ryan) Farley, Surprise AZ, Harold Broadhead, American Fork UT, Dollieann Broadhead, Holbrook AZ; and his sister: Eileen Billings, Pleasant Grove UT. Dee has 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 grandchildren, and his brother, Kent Broadhead.
Funeral Services will be held Friday morning, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Mountain LDS 1st Ward Church, 5237 West 10400 South, Payson, Utah.
