Deborah Anne Eva passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Deborah was born on December 11, 1951, in Newark, New Jersey, and was adopted shortly after birth by Arthur and Bertha Hoffman, who raised her in St. Petersburg, Florida. She spent most of her childhood, teenage years, and early adulthood in Florida before moving to California, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Eva. The two were married on May 19, 1976, and together built a life filled with many cherished memories.
Over the years, Deborah and Kenneth made their home in several places before eventually settling in Dugway, Utah. Later, they moved to Eureka, Utah, where Deborah spent the remainder of her life.
Deborah found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing cards and board games, and caring for animals. A devoted animal lover, she found great joy in rescuing and raising birds throughout her life. Her beloved bird, Molly, held an especially treasured place in her heart. Deborah’s kindness and compassion touched not only her family and friends but also the countless animals fortunate enough to find their way into her care.
Deborah is survived by her children, Laurie Harris (David) of South Jordan, Utah; Robert Cunningham (Nicole) of Creston, Washington; Jenifer Castro (Jose) of Eureka, Utah; and Jesica Severa (Chris) of Eureka, Utah. She is also survived by her siblings, William Sprankle, Jean Daugherty, Joan Nolder, and Gary Sprankle, all of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Having been adopted as an infant, Deborah was unaware of her biological siblings for most of her life. Later in life, she was able to discover and connect with them, and they remained in contact. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Clark Eva; her son, Julian Preston Eva; her parents, Arthur Gillman, and Bertha Stella Hoffman; and her brother, Robert Murray Hoffman.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Juab County EMS, Central Valley Medical Center, and the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers who provided Deborah with compassionate care throughout her life. A particularly special thank-you is extended to Deborah’s daughter, Jenifer, whose unwavering love, devotion, and selfless care brought comfort and strength to her mother and to the entire family.
Funeral services will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the service, and graveside services will immediately follow Payson City Cemetery, Veterans Memorial Section, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.
Following the graveside services, family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 70 East Main Street in Eureka, Utah.
Deborah will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep love for her family, and the compassion she showed to everyone—human and animal alike. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was the one who pushed me to do better and to do what I want in life. I will miss her greatly. I know that she is in a better place now, no more pain, no more sickness. I love you grandma.
