David Peter Okelberry, 93, passed away on January 8, 2025 in his home in West Valley City, Utah.

David was born on May 5, 1931 to Earl Clinton and Gwendolyn Werrett Okelberry in Goshen, Utah. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints his entire lifetime.
He served honorably for the U.S. army and was part of an atomic cannon unit in Germany. He would often tell his grandchildren stories of how he was the “Champion arm wrassler” during his military service.
After his time with the army, he spent most of his career at Unisys/L3 Communications working on radar systems.
On February 8, 1969, he married Kathleen Elaine Dille and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they raised seven children.

David was a family man who loved all kids. He enjoyed talking on the phone to family, friends, and even telemarketers. His passions included horses, wood turning, and native plants.
David is survived by his sweet wife, Kathy; children, David (Edna), Alta (Rod) Patterson, Paul, Rebecca, Earl (Tawnya), Rachel (Eric) Reiser; grandchildren, Tyler, Marinda, Jordan, Megan, Kevin, Samantha, Kylee, Stephanie, Ashley, Gavin, Lexi, Brooke, Haylee, Blake; great grandchildren, Erik, Shaynee, Kenadee, Aynzlee, Jex, Daymon, Charles, Derrick, Kyle, Aliyah, Eloise, Carter, Madeline, Natalie.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie; grandson, Chance; brothers, Earl and William, sisters, Mary, Lily Hudson, Lucille Ainge and Eva Pearl Stoneman.
Funeral services will be held at 4310 So. 3200 W. West Valley City, Utah on January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held at 9:30 am prior to the funeral services.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at the Goshen City Cemetery, for those who wish to speak and offer condolences.
