David Lewis Wolsey, 56, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on May 25, 2025, due to complications from a heart attack he suffered on May 23.
Born on May 24, 1969, in Panorama City, California, David was the beloved son of Jacqueline Irene Hurtgen and David Jerry Wolsey. David’s father passed away when he was just two years old. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Kelly Que Orton, in Payson, Utah, where he attended Payson High School.
From the age of 12, David showed remarkable independence and a tireless work ethic. He took on any job someone would hire him to do like selling candy door to door, working in the Payson orchards, and at the school bus shop.
After completing basic training for the Army National Guard, where he served honorably from 1986 to 1994, David began working at Pepsi Cola in Provo. He remained there until the company relocated its facility too far away for him to continue. He then joined Cressona Aluminum in Spanish Fork a year after it opened and remained there through its many acquisitions, including its transition to Hydro. He dedicated over 30 years to the company, and due to his long tenure, there were very few jobs he could not do. He was admired for his loyalty, reliability, and knowledge.
Known affectionately by his friends as “Jäger Dave,” He had a magnetic personality and a gift for making people feel welcome. Whether he was sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or telling a story, he brought people together with his easygoing nature and generous spirit. His nickname reflected not just his sense of fun, but the deep friendships he built over the years. He was the life of the party, always ready with a Jägerbomb and a party hat.
David loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping under the stars, hunting in the Utah wilderness, and listening to classic country music.
Above all, David was a devoted husband to Christi. They met when they were just 16 years old and married August 1st 1986. Their relationship was full of love. He could be infuriating at times, as all the best characters are, but through every challenge, they stood by each other, and he took care of her every need.
He was also a loving father to his daughter, Arica Dutson, and her husband, Chase Dutson. He is survived by his wife Christi Jensen Wolsey; daughter Arica Dutson (and husband Chase); father-in-law Terry B Jensen; his brother-in-law Tracy Jensen (and wife Natalie Jensen); brothers Kelly Orton, Michael Wolsey (and wife Pam); his sister Joanne Ford; his sister-in-law Lisa Wolsey; and a recently discovered long-lost brother, Kevin Curtis.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Jerry Wolsey; his mother Jacqueline Irene Hurtgen; his stepfather, Kelly Que Orton; and his mother-in-law, Linda Elmer Jensen.
A visitation for David will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home located at 187 South Main in Spanish Fork, Utah. An additional visitation will be held at the same location on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Spanish Fork City Cemetery located at 420 South 400 East.

May 28, 2025 at 2:20 amI am so sorry to hear this. I just called me and told me.. my mom was best friends with David’s mom Jackie. We played with Mike and Joanne. We were just little 5 or 6 years old. I remember when David’s dad was killed on Ironton Hill and how hard it was for Jackie. She cried and cried, and my mom was there comforted her.. all these years have gone by and if I would’ve seen you on the street, I wouldn’t of known that it was you, David the baby that’s when I remember you is when you were a baby. I am so sorry for your loss. Death is never easy and it changes everything.. I’m hoping to make it to the funeral or cemetery. You grew up to be a handsome young man David. May God bless you and your loved ones here that you have left behind.. I hope you’re up there with your dad. You surely turned out to be a good man just like your dad . You even look like him..
