David Snow Livestream Broadcast

David was born on November 7, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, to Dr. Harold Lee Snow and Audrey Ingeborg Ostlund Snow.  His middle name was given in honor of his great-grandfather, Lorenzo Snow, the fifth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His fifth wife, David’s great-grandmother, was Eleanor Houtz.

After a debilitating fall, David passed away in Springville, Utah, on Pioneer Day, July 24, 2025.  David spent his young childhood living in Lausanne, Switzerland, with his family.  He was a voracious reader and forever curious. He applied for and received a ham radio operator’s license at the age of eleven.

David graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School and later served a mission for the Church in Samoa, where he was instrumental in translating Church publications into Samoan.  David earned his B.A. in anthropology from UC Berkeley then studied at the University of Chicago where he earned his M.A. in anthropology. He later taught English in South Korea.  David enjoyed football, politics, law, and writing.  He authored and published five books.

In 2010, David met Lauraine Carter Robinson. They instantly became friends and that friendship grew into a marriage proposal. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple on May 21, 2010. David and Lauraine were a great source of support to each other during the 15 years they had together on Earth. Even when illness separated them in recent months, they made a point to call each other every day, to watch their favorite shows together, and to say, “I love you.”

David leaves behind his beloved wife, Lauraine Carter Snow.  He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sally (Rosenblatt) Snow.  He is survived by his sisters, Marilynn Snow Jones of Los Angeles and Sandra Snow Ellsworth of Boulder, Colorado.   He is also survived by forty nieces and nephews, seven step-children, thirty step-grandchildren and twenty step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are set for Saturday, August 2 at the Walker Funeral Home in Spanish Fork.  The viewing will take place from 10:45 to 11:45 A.M. with the funeral following at 12:00 P.M.  Following the funeral, interment will take place at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
