Darlene Burrows Funeral Service

Darlene Virginia Burrows, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Darlene was born on December 4, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She spent much of her childhood in Panama, an experience that shaped her perspective and appreciation for people and culture. She later returned to the United States, graduating from Anaheim High School in 1955. During her youth in Anaheim, she witnessed the building of Disneyland—a memory she fondly recalled throughout her life.

It was during her high school years that Darlene met the love of her life, Roger Leroy Burrows. Their friendship grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were married on June 15, 1956, in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and quiet devotion to one another.

Darlene was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She had a deep love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and especially cherished her time teaching early morning seminary. She also found great joy and peace in serving in the temple, where she felt closest to her Savior.

Her home was a place of warmth, safety, and love. In addition to raising her own children, Darlene opened her heart and her home to foster children, offering them care, stability, and compassion. She had a gift for making others feel valued and loved.

Darlene had a deep love of reading, particularly books that strengthened her faith and testimony. She found joy in learning and in the quiet moments spent reflecting on gospel truths.

More than anything, Darlene was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife who faithfully supported her husband in all things, and a nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her posterity.

She is survived by her three children: Denise Hafliger; Jodi (Thomas) Nunley; and Reid (Katherine) Burrows; as well as 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply blessed by her love and example.

Darlene’s life was one of steady faith, quiet service, and enduring love. Her legacy will continue in the lives of those she touched and in the family she so deeply cherished.
