Today, we gather to celebrate the life of Danene Timpson Harper, a woman whose heart overflowed with love, whose arms were always open, her joy and laughter, that was felt by all who knew her.
Danene was born on June 1, 1954, in Provo, Utah, to her loving parents Lyle Berton “Bert” and Afton Eleanor Larsen Timpson. On August 18, 2025, she returned to her Heavenly Father, surrounded by love. She leaves behind her husband Shelton “Delmar” and sons and daughter in laws, Dustin (Rachel), Devin (Dayna), her 5 beautiful grandchildren, her brothers Ladd and Corry Timpson, and several nieces and nephews.
On November 8, 1973, Danene was sealed for time and all eternity to the love of her life, Shelton “Delmar” Harper, in the Salt Lake City Utah LDS Temple. Together, they built a life of devotion, laughter, and enduring love, a partnership that became the foundation for their family and a shining example of true companionship. Danene was love in its purest form. Gentle, kind, and steady, that touched every part of her life. Her greatest joy was her family. Her love wasn’t ordinary, it was fierce, selfless, and without end.
Her husband Delmar, was her true companion and best friend.
Her sons and their spouses, Dustin (Rachel), Devin (Dayna), were her greatest treasures. To them, she was not only a mother but a guide, a safe place, and an endless source of love. They will always remember her wisdom, her listening ear, her smile and laughter. The way she gave of herself, her love and her time, will always be remembered and cherished. Her greatest delight of all was being “Grandma.”
Her grandchildren, Layla, Adelyn, Louie, Zella, Dalton, and Ruby were her shining stars. Every hug, every story, every quiet moment shared with them was a reflection of her endless love. They were her joy beyond measure, and her presence will always live on in their hearts.
Danene found great joy in serving others. She cherished her years spent with the young women of her church. To her, each girl was precious, full of divine worth. She poured her heart into guiding and loving them, and her influence continues to ripple through their lives long after her time with them. For Danene, service was never a duty, it was love in action. Danene’s gift for creating beauty and comfort with Interior design was more than a talent. It was an extension of herself. She had a way of turning any space into a
warm, loving and fun home. Danene was love, joy, wit, laughter, spunk and sass all wrapped into one. She had a way of filling a room with fun, finding the humor in the little things. She had a gift in making sure those around her felt both seen and cherished. Her quick wit, playful spirit, and gift for laughter reminded us not to take life too seriously, even in its hardest moments. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on, in our hearts, in our memories, and in all things leopard print.
Today, we celebrate a woman who loved without limits, who gave without hesitation, and who made the world brighter simply by being herself. Though our hearts ache, there is peace in knowing she is embraced once again by her Heavenly Father. She has reunited with her dear mother Afton, her father Bert, her sweet grandson Louie, and her sister-in-law Jody Nickel Timpson, whose arms now hold her close.
Thank you, Mom, Wife and Friend, Danene, for the love you gave so freely, the lessons you taught so gently, and the legacy you leave behind so beautifully. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry your light with us forever.
There will be a viewing September 4 from 6-8 at Walker Mortuary and services Friday September 5 in the LDS Church, located at 25 W Apple Blossom Way Salem UT 84653. 11:00 a.m. with a viewing held one hour before services. Burial services will be held at the Spanish Fork Utah Cemetery, 420 S 400 E, Spanish Fork, UT 84660.
