Dale Earl Jolley Funeral Service

Dale Earl Jolley, 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on April 11, 2023, in Payson, Utah.

He was born February 2, 1940, to Virgil and Nelda Chynoweth Jolley in Henrieville, Utah. Dale enjoyed his childhood in Tropic, Utah until he was 11 years old, and then his family moved to Benjamin, Utah. He attended Spanish Fork High School and graduated with the class of 1959.

Dale married Diane Rose Bliss February 11, 1961, in Payson, Utah, they were later sealed in the Manti Temple on June 27, 1963.

Dale was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities over the years. He was a lifetime cattle rancher having worked in Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Utah. Dale was employed by the LDS church in cattle operations for 15 years. Following retirement from the church, Dale started his own cattle operations, Jolley Cattle Company with his family.

He served on the Utah Days of 47 Rodeo committee for 16 years. The rodeo honors Utah’s pioneer heritage and is a long-standing tradition.

Dale played church basketball and had an interest in genealogy. He was an avid BYU and Utah Jazz basketball fan. Dale was a great storyteller and loved to camp and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dale will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was always serving others. He will be greatly missed until we meet again.

He is survived by his lovely wife Diane; children, Gwyn Buescher, Clark (Roxanne) Jolley, Travis (Brittani) Jolley, and Kamilla (Brad) Nordgren; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marie Barney, Karel Hill, Ned (Angel) Jolley, Bill Jolley, and Monna Mae Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Jolley, brothers, Neldon, Harvey (AnnaRae), and Max (Connie) Jolley; and sister, Maxine Rose.
