Dakota Robbins September 26, 1989 - September 2, 2026

It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Dakota B. Robbins. He was born September 26th, 1989 in The Dalles, Oregon. He’s survived by his mother, Kerri Robbins; Father, Ron Robbins; Sisters, Nikki Fossey (Travis Fossey), Randi Sue Adams (Aaron Adams), and Ronnie Robbins (Sanjin Hadzialijagic); Also survived by nephews, Mason Malmgren and Brandt Adams; And niece, Lucy Adams.

Dakota will be remembered for his enormous heart, positive nature, jokes and silliness, his ability to connect with animals, his quick wit, love of the outdoors, respect for nature, incredible work ethic, kindness and bravery. Dakota had many passions – photography, hiking, adventuring, climbing, illustrating and others. He earned his Eagle Scout early in his scouting career. He was an entrepreneur. In recent years he had started his own business and helped others do the same. He loved to build and problem-solve. Dakota was as smart as they come and spent his entire life studying, reading and researching anything and everything.

He was the most adventurous person we knew. He often worried us with his backcountry, off-road and out-of-service adventures. His memory will live on in the breathtaking photos he took while on those adventures. Dakota saw and did things most people only dream of. He made several trips to the coveted Havasupai Falls, explored many National Parks, traveled to Thailand and Europe, climbed every mountain he came across, traveled with friends and made friends while traveling. Dakota was known for inviting you on an “easy hike” only for you to discover that your easy and his easy were two completely different levels.

Dakota’s smile and humor were everything to us. He was forever making us laugh. His sense of humor was silly, pure and never un-kind. Dakota would become fast friends with whoever he met. He thought everyone was funny and truly saw the best in every person he knew. You didn’t just know Dakota, you were friends with him and shared laughs with him.

He made it a point in his life to always do the right thing, never hurt anyone and help people in need. Dakota had the sweetest spirit and his light was brighter than most. We know this is how he will be remembered.

In lieu of a funeral service, our family will share a private viewing. His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes will be spread in his favorite place. If you’d like to honor Dakota’s memory please reach out to a friend in need, check in on your loved ones, stay positive and never give up.

Rest in peace, Dakota. We love you so, so much.

I know this has to be hard for your family. I’m shocked and sad to learn of Dakota’s passing. He was such a good dude who I’ve known for at least 20 years. I first met him when he took over one of my paper routes in The Dalles and it wasn’t long after that I saw him at church when I started attending the ward in The Dalles. I still have one of his photographs of the Grand Canyon (I think) with the Milky Way above it. I always loved his humor and how he was a good person to everyone he met along the journey. Lots of love to the Robbins family and rest in peace my friend.
