Our spunky beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Connie Rees Romero, passed away on February 1, 2020 at Parkway Health Center in Payson, Utah. She was 78 years old.
Connie was born in Spanish Fork on June 6, 1941, the daughter of Thomas Alfred Rees and Faun Thomas Rees. She attended schools in Spanish Fork.
She was married to Jerry Lee Romero on June 28, 1963. Together they raised three children, Karla Romero Hughes, Bodie Romero, and Abbie Romero (Vance) Sorensen.
Connie was able to spend the majority of her time being a homemaker while raising her children. For a few years, she worked at Kmart in Spanish Fork when they first opened. Her favorite job which she held for many years, was handing out samples of products at local grocery stores. She loved to talk to and meet people while doing that. She absolutely loved talking, which explains why her grandkids learned to talk early and talk a lot.
Her pride and joy in life were her grandchildren, Jeris Hughes, Broden (Haley) Hughes, Ryler Hughes, Kodie Romero, Karlee Romero (Kayden) Draper, Hayden Sorensen, and Chaz Sorensen. She also has four great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son, Bodie; and one daughter, Abbie. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest daughter, Karla.
The family would like to extend their great appreciation to the staff of Mountain View Hospital ICU, Parkway Health Center, and Encompass Hospice.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial services will follow immediately after at 12:30 p.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.
