Connie Marie Jolley, 74, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was able to be surrounded by her loving children. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family meant everything to her.
Connie was born February 20, 1946, to Elmer L. and Della May Barney Beckstead in Tooele Utah. She married her high school sweetheart, and the Love of her Life, Max Jolley, on April 15, 1965, in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with three children: Cindy, Jill and Chris. She loved each of them very much, and they loved her.
Connie graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1964 where she was a member of the Pep Team and the trampoline team. She loved school and made many great long-time friends. She and Max have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in and planning many of their high school reunions. They cherish the friendships that they have made with their classmates.
Working hard was something that she enjoyed very much. She had several different jobs and made many friends during those times. Some of her most memorable jobs were with McGee’s Stamp and Trophy, where she got to work closely with her good friends, Jesse and Deanna McGee. She was able to have fun and be creative, as she helped make different plaques for customers. She and Max later bought a donut shop and moved to St. George, Utah. They worked long, hard hours but enjoyed doing it together. After they sold the donut shop, she began working for SkyWest Airlines as a purchasing agent. She absolutely loved this job and made friends all over the world. She had the opportunity to travel to Brazil for meetings/trainings, and loved to be able to finally see the friends that she had made from Brazil in person. Connie and Max both planned their retirement for the same time and on April 15, 2008, they retired together. After their retirement, they spent several summers working at various campgrounds in Utah and in West Yellowstone. They loved meeting people from all over the world and helping them in any way that they could.
Connie always found a way to stay busy. She loved working on crafts, crocheting afghans and table centerpieces, doing genealogy, making floral arrangements, camping and 4 -wheeling with Max and their group of lifelong friends, and playing cards. She was a pretty competitive “Peanuts” and “Hand and Foot” card player and loved playing with Max’s brothers and their wives. She was always very active and ran in several marathons and half-marathons. One of the things that people remember about her was that she taught an exercise class for Spanish Fork City. Those that took the class still refer to her as the “Go you chicken fat go” lady.
Connie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many different callings. She served in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School. She also really enjoyed their family home evening group. She truly loved all of the people in her ward.
Connie is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Max; her children: Cindy (Jeff “Whites”) Nelson of Spanish Fork, Jill (Scott) Rekoutis of West Jordan, and Chris (Jamie) Jolley of West Jordan. She has 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, whom she adores. She is also survived by three sisters: Bernita (Gene) Carley, Eldona (Brian) Crook, Glenda Jenkins; and three brothers: Dennis (Debra) Smith, Dan Smith, and Duane Smith; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, and many other beloved family members.

The funeral will be live-streamed, so it can be viewed in the safety of your home, on the following link meet.google.com/gui-icpn-ygy There will be a public viewing on Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork. October 23, 2020 at 6:15 pmConnie was a wonderful special person, so full of life and fun. We cannot think of Connie without thinking of Max since they were bound together with so much love for one another. We had many memorable experiences together exploring the nearby area around Tropic. They did an absolutely fabulous job for us at the Bed and Breakfast , so friendly with the guests and meticulous with their work. Kevin and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity that we had to get to know them and be our friends. May God Bless you all during this most difficult time of loss. Max and the family continue to be in our prayers.
