Connie Lee Nielson, 73, beloved wife and mother, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, following a difficult fight with cancer, in Payson, Utah. She was born November 21, 1948, in Lynwood, California, and grew up in Southgate, California. She married Warren Arthur Nielson on August 18, 1979 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on April 17, 1987.
She has always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Some of her most cherished callings were working in the Payson temple in the recorder’s office, together with her husband; family history consultant, serving the members at SRT (Supported Residential Treatment) Hillman 3rd Branch as a Sunday school teacher, and ministering to them. She loved any calling where she could teach the gospel.
She is remembered for her great love for her family, children and grandchildren, and loved having them around her always. She loved serving others and has a great love for the Lord and His gospel. She has a strong testimony of the plan of salvation and the atonement of Jesus Christ. She is loved and missed by all!
She is survived by her husband, Warren Arthur Nielson; and children: Val Medley, Kari Lindquist, Philip Johnson, Sheri Nielson, Sommer Bitner, and Amber Gailey; 33 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her brother, Lin David Miller; and her sisters, Judy Rogers and Valerie Massey.
She was preceded in death by her son, Nathan Johnson; and one great-grandson, Silas Dee Vickers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the LDS Brookside Ward Chapel, 952 West 1580 South, Payson, Utah 84651. December 21, 2021 at 5:54 pmI Loved your Mother. She was my one neighbor who always accepted me for who I am & she always told me I was her neighbor who always accepted her for who she was. I have missed having your family live down the street from me tremendously. I remember when your Mom was 1st diagnosed with Breast Cancer & how devastated she was. She made the decision to face it like the warrior she was. May all of you feel of my Love for you & sending you all love, light & peace at this time.
