Colleen Poulson Holliman December 24, 1930 - February 27, 2020

Colleen Poulson Holliman was born on Christmas Eve 1930 in Ephraim, Utah to Sherman and Ruby Madsen Poulson.  She passed away on February 27, 2020 at the age of 89 in Huntington Beach, California.  We have no doubt she was greeted warmly by her beloved husband Boyd and her mother who died in childbirth when Mom was just 18 months old.  What a sweet reunion!

She and Dad enjoyed over sixty years of marriage when he died in 2014.  They had many adventures traveling the world together.  After Dad retired, they bought a motorhome and enjoyed life on the open road.

Mom was one of the kindest, most generous people ever.  She hated to see anyone suffer.  If there was a need, she was there to help make things better.  Many are the recipients of her generosity.  She was humble in her service, unaware of just how remarkable she was.

Mom had many interests, tennis being at the top of her list.  If there was a match on TV, she was watching, no matter the time.  She played on the tennis team when Snow College was Snow High School and even lettered in that sport.  Mom was an excellent bowler and belonged to several leagues over the years.  She even took up clogging.  If you ever challenged her to an “arm wrestle”, be prepared to lose.  Male or female, she would probably beat you.

Mom was an avid collector of coins and spoons from her travels.  Her doll collection was impressive, winning her First Place Ribbons at the Orange County Fair.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as the ward librarian for many years.  She loved genealogy and family history.  She and Dad served missions in the Los Angeles and Newport Beach temples.

Most of all, she loved her family and we love her and look forward to the day we see her again.  She leaves behind a wonderful posterity which includes her children: Patti (John) Neeb, Terry Fry, Jerry (Shirley) Fry, Laura (Doug) Yates, Boyd, also known as Deuce (Christine) Holliman, Dixie (Randy) Destromp and Deanna (Frank) Howard.

She was Granny to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will miss her terribly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, brother Don, sisters, Shannon and Shirley and beloved son-in-law, Johnny Neeb.

Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery with a 1 p.m. Graveside Service on Saturday, March 21, 2020 under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.
